Hi All,

I am considering getting a Truetrac differential for my 2025 XLT as it only has open-diff.

I keep reading good reviews about the product but what has me a bit worried is that they only seem to have a 1 year warranty.

For a product that seems to sturdy, i would have expected the manufacturer to offer a better warranty as a sign of confidence in their product.

I guess i can partly understand if people abuse that product offroad or racing but in a road vehicle, it seems a bit odd and not confidence inspiring.

Has anyone needed to use their warranty on a Truetrac?

I put one in my 07 Silverado Classic. It has been in for 3 years now no problems. You don’t put anti slip fluid for the truetrac just straight diff fluid.

Valid concern, but I wouldn’t let the 1-year warranty scare you off too much. Truetracs have a pretty solid reputation and most failures I’ve heard of come from poor install or heavy abuse, not normal road use. I don’t personally know anyone who’s had to file a warranty claim on one.
For a mostly street-driven XLT, I’d say the risk is pretty low if it’s installed and maintained properly. Might be worth asking your installer what they’ve seen long-term as well.

Eaton is what ships for all GM/Chevy Z71 trucks and has proven to be very reliable.
