Could just pretend it's a super charger whine and keep it in Sport mode.

Exactly what I am hearing. Are you also able to hear and feel the shifts between 2nd and 3rd, and occasionally experience rough shifts, especially in heavy traffic? The 10R80 gear hunting isn’t smooth. Mine also sounds like it has an electric motor when backing up.Here is a better video with what dealers are considering normal…
I have noticed that the whining noise is temperature related. The colder it is outside, or the colder the transmission is, the louder the transmission pump whine gets. In the summertime I don’t even hear it.Exactly what I am hearing. I wonder if there are multiple suppliers for the 10R80 and if those with the level of whine that we are hearing could be traced back to a particular supplier with poor quality control for their metal stamping?….I am trying to give Ford the benefit of the doubt that they wouldn’t accept this db level if whine during design without investigating. Mild whine needs to be defined.
Honesty from Ford and the Service Departments would go along way, the inconsistency in amount of whine doesn’t align with the straight cut gear narrative as the only sole culprit. Hard not to believe it’s not deliberate and they are hoping it survives past warranty.
I can hear a ratcheting noise occasionally when shifting at lower speeds and shifting isn’t the greatest between 1-4. Mine is still noticeable at lower temps, but definitely gets more pronounced as it warms up. I also notice my trans doesn’t downshift very well when coming to a stop, seems like it’s holding gears too long. I would honestly love this truck if I didn’t have to listen to the transmission when driving. No other vehicle on the road that I know of that has a transmission this loud. The 10r60 in my 2021 Explorer was silent and that’s based off of the same design with different clutches and strategy but that had straight cut gears just like the 10r80. Ford just needs to step up and ensure quality and consistency if they want to keep their customers.Exactly what I am hearing.
