I'm considering purchasing a small travel trailer of around 6,000 to 7,000 lbs. What issues should I be worried about if any? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

You do not list if you have a tow package? Trailer brake controller? What tow package?

Sorry. It has tow package with integrated brake controller.

Personally I would not go over 6000lbs. Trailers list weight as dry weight. No propane, no water no personal belongings in trailer. I tow a lance 1995 it’s 25 feet with my 3.5 eco no problems. It’s right about 6000 loaded. You will need a weight distribution hitch that’s about 100 lbs. All the hidden weight adds up fast. In the bed I have a 30lb propane for fire pit and a fire pit about 30 pounds. Usually a cooler with drinks.

Let's see your payload sticker. You'll eat that up first which "should" limit how much you're towing due to tongue weight.

Rough estimates.
WD hitch 100lbs.
Random stuff in the truck 50lbs.
Passengers ___lbs
Any other stuff in the bed___lbs
Add that up and subtract it from your payload on the yellow sticker and that's your remaining payload.
Take 10-15% of your trailer gvwr for trailer tongue weight, not the trailer dry weight and see if you're over the remaining payload.

You can save some weight, and your back, if you use the Andersen WD Hitch. https://andersenhitches.com/product/weight-distribution-hitch/
payload is your biggest problem. The Travel Trailer salespeople focus on towing capacit, not payload. I‘ve just retired my 21 Powerboost from towing my Lance 2375. Listed tongue weight was 800 lbs. in reality it is 1200 lbs.

2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
With that payload, you'll have to be super careful about tongue weight and TT manufacturers are pretty notorious about understating them.

My actual, new, empty tongue weight, was around 300 lbs. heavier than published.

I'm so glad to see people so far actually giving good advice. Seems like the other threads people are saying "yeah I tow my 40' camper weighing 13,000 lbs no problem"

I have a 21 PB and everyone is correct you will have plenty of power. I tow a 29’ at 6359 lbs loaded. I have E rated tires, a Hensley hitch and never go over 67, enjoy the ride. I hit the CAt scales before each trip and just appreciate you are a heavy combo going down the road. Only downside to the E rated tires is the ride is definitely stiffer. The PB is a good choice.
Good luck.
