Towing Mirrors Dim Turn Signals

The truck came with standard mirrors which had excellent bright turn lights. After upgrading to towing mirrors, they’re not as good. Are they supposed to be this dim:

Those are the only part of the led strips that blink. Mine are the same way. The rest of the strip is the running light.

It kinda sucks. You have this large white/clear panel, but there's only these 2 little orange/amber LED bulbs that don't even illuminate the whole panel and that's it. Ford could have done better.

So, what are these "running lights" and how do we turn 'em on?

I didn't know the OEM mirrors were like that. Glad I ordered a set of these instead, they should be here today. This is my work weekend so may not get them on until Monday but will post pics/initial thoughts when I've got them installed.

They have tons of positive reviews so I'm thinking I'll be happy with them over the OEM tow mirrors.

I did look at the Boosts before, but they don't any with cameras. So it was a no-go. I saw this out on the road today (someone else's truck). This is more like how I wish they looked. Here, the lights were actually steady on though. I can't figure out how to make mines do that.

On the oems the forward facing light is a running light while on the boost they are running and turn signal functionality.

Boost auto also sells just turn signal light lens separately to gain the functions you want. I just bought a set and they are awesome. Plug and play.

Since your truck didn't come with Tow mirrors I believe you need to add the running light modules to get the marker lights to work. More than likely easier to just retrofit the boost auto lenses. But I may be wrong. There are far smarter people here to correct me.

I have the from the factory tow mirrors. The main bars are running lights and the blinker is just the two small dots towards the rear part of the lenses.

This is the running light without the turn signal blinking:

And this is when the blinker comes on, the two dots appear and disappear:

My truck is an XLT with the 302A package along with the 360 cameras. All I did was unbolt the standard mirrors and bolt in the new ones with the camera and puddle lamps (maintained existing features). I enabled the tow mirror running lights using Forscan.
