I don’t think any state says full windshield tint is legal unless it’s a clear UV film. You should be fine with 70% however. I ran 50% on my last 2 vehicles and never had an issue. I thought I would “grow up” this time and not tint windshield but it helps tremendously at night with glare so I’ll soon be adding 50% to my windshield. I’m in Texas and cops don’t look twice (except for small towns)Looking at the tint laws 70% on window sheild and 35% on all the rest is the limit. But I don't know how dark that is. I guess I'll have to talk to a shop and see if they have samples or something.
This is what I did.Get Ceramic tint and do every window including the windshield and the sunroof.
I'd suggest 20% on two front doors and then put 70% everywhere else.

I do tinting.... the % is the amount of light that passes thru. (see photo for reference)Looking at the tint laws 70% on window sheild and 35% on all the rest is the limit. But I don't know how dark that is. I guess I'll have to talk to a shop and see if they have samples or something.
NICE! I know Tx does not allow anything but clear UV
Thanks! That picture really helps.I do tinting.... the % is the amount of light that passes thru. (see photo for reference)The Front doors and windshields are already done from the factory with 70% via the small dark print you see in the lower corner of the Ford glass. Rear glass comes factory 20% in SUV/trucks. If you install Ceramic film(we use Geoshield) you'll get the best heat rejection vs. standard film. I recommend using 75% on the windshield as it will still measure around 64% total when finished (if you worry about state inspections) and hardly noticeable compared to the other windows.![]()
That looks great!Like others have said run whatever brand ceramic they offer. I would highly recommend doing the windshield in 70% doesn’t darken the shield but provides outstanding temperature block!
I have 70% shield, 5% brow, 35% over 35% fronts, 20% over rear doors, 20% on back glass. All film is ceramic solar solutions film!

That’s about 13% on the front two windows, 8% on rear doors, 12% on back glass, 70% on windshield. It’s absolutely perfect. Great in the day and allows great visibility out the front two windows in the dark. Now if I had a redo I would do 50% on the windshield, but I would not recommend that to others. It’s just a personal preference for looks.
Darkness does play a small role in heat rejection, but is mainly looks. Focus on uv and ir rejection above everything.
we running the same setup lmaoNot an issue here...but my screen is always in dark mode anyway. 5% everywhere. Windshield 50%.

i recently just did all stratos on my Tacoma. that shit cost me about $1400...As promised, pics. Llumar Stratos 15% and 50%. Went with this because of its heat rejection properties. One of if not the best window film on the market right now.
