I said I love the truck and that it has been beyond my expectations and that is true. I also said I wouldn't pull punches if that changed.

So, I'm tinkering around, trying to stop the remote features disabled warning and the new Service Charging System Soon warning. Gave it a full charge last week, drove it 100 miles yesterday. Let it idle until shut down an hour ago and just now got the remote features disabled notice again.

Checked for fuse seating in both locations and both batteries' connections. Clean and tight. I haven't reset the BMS yet but just for grins, called a local dealer, that a friend recommended.

They don't make appointments, I'd have to drop it off, said maybe 3 weeks and no loaner. I told him this was still under full warranty. Made no difference.

That ain't cool.

So, gonna charge the batt, bypassing the BMS this time, until fully charged, then reset the BMS.

If that doesn't work, I'll get a new batt but it grates me. A LOT.

Because we plan extensive travel, starting this summer, I'm thinking Walmart. I know there are better better batteries but WalMarts are everywhere.

Welcome to the club.. warning lights, truck will not go into ev mode when it should. For example sitting at a red light engine runs the whole time when normally it would go electric. Two weeks for first available appointment. I asked if they have to keep the truck for more than a day or two if I would be getting a loaner? There answer was NO because you do not have extended warranty, you can always rent a car. Hopefully they fix it quickly. If I am forced to rent a car so that I can keep my job..... well this might be the last ford I own.

I've had none of that. Honestly, its been a dream to own but I am getting tired of the battery warnings and the, drop it off and we'll (likely) tell you the battery is in spec. 3 weeks later, with no loaner, pissed me off.

From what I have seen I am hoping the issue is the 12v battery for me. But april 16th when I drop it off I shall see.
Hope the battery solves your issue as well.

well that all sucks, and thankfully I havent fallen victim to battery issues yet, ( and hoping thats all yours is). but 100% on Wallymart, or Costco for a battery.

if my battery gives me trouble the last place I am going is my dealer. don’t care if it costs me and shouldn't, the hassle isnt worth it to me. service centers suck these days. and I don't blame the techs. it’s just a post covid world now.

I have never heard of a dealer that wont make appointments and expects it to sit there for weeks, I have never have to wait more than a week to get in. I had the dreaded battery problems on my 21, once they replaced it the gremlins went away. I looked into buying a new one if the dealer didn't replace and Walmart has a highly rated H8 AGM for under $200. Good luck

Have you considered you might have a parasitic draw going on? Or (without knowing how much it is driven) you aren't getting enough charge from the alternator?

Some starting points.... (apologies if you've already done this)

Not sure what your area is like, have you tried another dealer? Is your truck still under the 3/36 warranty? I'm not sure what the extended warranty has to do with it, but doesn't Ford cover the rental rate? I always got a vehicle as a loaner the few times. During peak shortages I had to wait a week or two for a loaner, but those were unusual times.

No, I haven't tried another dealer. Haven't needed one and talking to my friend that recced this one, he no longer does. Yes, the truck is still under full original warranty.

It isn't driven far enough, often enough. But thanks for the vids anyway. Always enjoy Eric's work.

The biggest reason I'm buying the extended warranty is "Enhanced First Day Rental" (a option that pays $60.00 verses $40.00 for 10 days) after I found out a loaner is NOT mandatory or required in the 3-36..I also will get zero deductible because of rare but known cases of dealers trying to get multiple deductibles when a truck has multiple problems and also try to grab a deductible when a problem can't be replicated.
Many dealerships give you a loaner as a matter of policy but you are not going to get a high trim F-150 as a loaner unless they REALLY like you lolol! I consider one as 'Insurance' both for the vehicle and bad dealerships.
Edit: On any rental or loaner do a walk around and film/make note of any damage..

My battery has been replaced by Ford twice in my 2022 PB. I'm doing an 8000 mile road trip out west this summer and just replaced the Motorcraft battery with an X2 Power H7 that I got from BatteriesPlus. This seemed like the highest quality around and has a 4 year warranty. Over $300 but hopefully worth it and keeping my Motorcraft battery onboard during my trip just in case.

The dealer just replaced my battery too. I did the quick service line and asked them to check it. It checked bad. I charged it numerous times, but my approach lights and interior lights hardly ever worked. Time will tell how long this one lasts. Just over a year old and 11k miles.
