I think Ford is going to have no choice but to move production of the 5.0 and 6.8/7.3 powertrains for the F-Series to the US, this is disastrous for Canada and us. When you figure the domestic parts contents that are shipped up to Essex and assembled and shipped back the tariffs are a grenade. I think Windsor/Essex will be shut down in fast order, Ford is not going to pay all those tariffs on the hundreds of thousands of 5.0 and 6.8/7.3 engines for long because it’s a competitive disadvantage to GM and Ram who assembly their pickup engines in the US. Ford will have to make that alteration to compete if nothing changes. The US market is more than 10X Canada for these engines and trucks. Don’t they also have stamping plants up there?

Im not a fan of treating our neighbors this way, Trudeau responded to “our” demands and we still pulled the rug out. First time I was like ok, now this isn’t cool. We are all going to feel it. Many will lose jobs up north too. Canada tried to negotiate and we didn’t reciprocate…not a fan.

I'm fine with bringing manufacturing of critical items back to America. However, to do that, you need the plants to manufacture the items and companies willing to pay workers American wages. The trend over the past 35+ years has been to move American manufacturing elsewhere to avoid paying workers American wages. It would take decades and billions of dollars to get American manufacturing back to even the 1980's era.

Stop your criticism.

My man DJT is doing God's work tanking the stock markets. Don't get in his way.

Love how it took a few short hours for this to get political, lol. But I've been considering selling my 2023 Screw 3.5 for a 2025 Mustang GT. Maybe the increased value of my truck will offset the cost of the Mustang ?

I'm a commission paid salesperson (and business owner) and the tariffs just cost me personally $6K today with no way to recoup before my next house payment, or even in the next decade. It's just gone unless the tariffs are rescinded in days.

This is going to cause real pain for real Americans. Nothing good comes from this. Trading your services and goods for other services and goods has been exceptional for middle class societies for centuries. The USA has had by far and away the best 1st world economy in the world over the previous 4 years with low unemployment, high GDP growth, strong economic growth, affordable energy, lower deficit growth as a percent due to higher tax receipts which is a consequence of high employment and wage growth.

It doesn't matter how much manufacturing is brought back to America, this 100% reduces the quality of American's lives and will allow the rest of the world to catch and pass us rather quickly. Being isolated does NOT make for a strong economy, never has.

It's really hard for me to fathom how anyone, of any political party, views this as wise or useful. Talk about a bull in a China shop approach.

I'd also add that it's complete Horsesh*t that Canada could have done anything to prevent this, short of agreeing to give up their nation and become a state. There is no Fetanyal or otherwise border crisis from Canada! Made up BS.

Also worth noting is that if Canada did become the 51st state, the USA would be unlikely to ever swing for the Republican candidate again.

Whats that saying? Everybody has a plan, until they get hit in the mouth?

Counter tariffs have already been announced and now, counter, counter tariffs.
