Hi all so I have been enjoying my 2021 Powerboost Platinum and about to hit my 36k miles mark. The truck has been solid for me so far no issues at all that required a trip to the dealer. That said this thing has a ton of computers/electrical equipment that is relatively new and every once in a while something doesnt quite work right. Sure this is usually resolved by restarting the truck, etc. but im concerned that if I run into something more serious here it could get quite expensive very quickly.

Anyone have thoughts on extended warranties from Ford,3rd parties?
Things to watch out for, etc?

yup go with a FORD ESP from granger

prices are very very good on same plan dealers sell
if your under the 41k miles and i think 41 months, then its easy
if your over that, they will need the survey if a ton of stuff a dealer has to look at to verify the truck is SOUND

IMO you cannot beat a Genuine Ford "PremiumCare" plan for the most comprehensive and hassle-free coverage of the esoteric technology on your F150.

No other plan (note "PremiumCare" specifically) covers as many components and no other brand of plan (i.e. '3rd party' plans) provides the rapid and seamless administration of claims that Ford ESPs provide at Ford dealers. Ford dealers are fully set-up to administer claims processing via direct computer link under Ford Plans and that means the most rapid claims processing (completed repairs) possible.

And yep, it's very hard to beat the value offered by Granger Ford at the link above - fantastic folks to deal with for a Ford ESP purchase.

Do not use 3rd parties. You can buy any ford plan from any dealer. I Bought mines a couple months ago from Ziegler I was under 36k for the premium plan with lighting option it was $1,600 for the 7 year 100k miles. Reminder that plan starts from the date of purchase!

Throwing out specific prices paid for Ford ESP is generally useless because the cost varies by location and specific options selected (2WD/4WD, deductible, duration and miles of coverage, etc).

Just saying, readers should be cautious about specific quotes other folks mention because their situation may vary.

It's very easy to go online and get exactly comparable quotes from the various competing providers (Granger, Ziegler, Flood, etc) and IMO that's the only thing that's meaningful if you are shopping for the lowest cost possible for your specific case.

you are correct, that’s something worth mentioning, but sometimes it helps to know where to start.

granger, ziegler and few others offer great pricing for your specific location and needs

bottom line is this
they sell at cost, vice the big markup you could get at your local dealer
HOWEVER 2 x times now i have shown my selling dealer my cost from the above and the dealer matched it and or beat it, i was told SHE Was not going to let a sale walk away without trying to match or beat the quote .
my grand kids fusion in march we did same thing, i had a quote from the "3" and my dealer met the cost and covered the SURVEY inspection cost .
beat the bushes and compare whats best for you.
its a nationwide ESP so any ford place can use it, and your local dealer service guys have no idea where you bought the plan from. they just see its ESP and run from there to get it fixed

Agreed. We didn't mess around. On signing day, we went with the premium package, 7yr/75k miles. Since these vehicles are computers on wheels, it gives us peace of mind that we're covered.

I agree that the Ford ESP PremiumCare is the only way to go. I did 6 yrs/125k (I drive alot). Granger blew away the comps.

for years i avoided my present dealer...to small etc and no inventory and place is in need of NEW buildings.

but then i ventured over to get the 22 and WOW, talk about night and day different from other places
the couple that bought it, a few years back has one thing in mind REPEAT customers and treat them like your friends. you walk in and they know your name, etc. HOWDY
the couple that owns them also own a refrigerated logistics line about 50 miles away and his company is run the same way. everyone is a friend ,

after any work is done, you get a PERSONAL phone call from management to ensure you are happy and event was done to your satisfaction. A real CALL not an email
everyone in the place is fantastic at getting down whatever is needed on your car
i keep pressing them sponsor here and sell vehicles liek granger and take over north texas as the place to go to order new vehicles for this area
