If you do want to get an Extended Warranty from Granger or Ziegler, and you have access to an out of FL address, I have seen others that have used that "trick" and save thousands of dollars on the warranty. I do not know how they did it, but it might be something to research if you have an out of FL address (not CA) you can use and want to buy one. Good luck.

Insurance is transference of risk. How do you make money? You take risk. Every action you take is a risk. If insurance was not so profitable, why are there so many types and vendors selling it? You always come out ahead by self insurance, but do you want to deal with stress that comes with it. I can write a paper on either point of view. The most correct answer is it depends….. Try calling around to quote the worst repair you could think of happening. It really is surprising and freeing. The fact you even asked someone’s opinion you don’t know tells me whichever choice you choose is right for you.

Just my point of view….. YMMV

I'm in Florida..The biggest concern I have is the dealership will NOT have a loaner available in the 3-36 bumper to bumper factory warranty. I can't imagine being told it 'might be weeks' before the needed part is available and good luck. So my question is Does the dealership HAVE to give me a loaner or rental for a overnight covered repair and if so is there a limit on how long that is available? I was told if I have a Ford extended warranty with the rental option a loaner WILL be provided during the 3-36 factory warranty. But I want to be sure after reading about so of the horror stories some folks have experienced. That might determine if I buy it now when I order it or put it off for a year but before 12,000 miles.
When you only have/need one vehicle peace of mind knowing it's Fords problem and not mine really is 'Priceless'. I'm sure many if not most dealerships would provide a loaner during the 3-36 period as a matter of fact but I've seen 'if available' on a few threads and want to know for sure. And of course if a repair takes weeks or even longer is there a limit on the loaner? I've seen that mentioned too.
