Just out of curiosity how hard is it getting the rear emblem off?
meant to quote this earlier. it was sort of a pain but not like the front haha. took the back panel off and unfortunately had to use needle nose to break the tabs holding on the rear emblem. then i just pushed it loose enough to grab it and slowly pulled it off.

So what’s a good price, then? Certainly can’t be $875 (which is about what my payment is). If I don’t need a BLIS module, which seems to be the case, then all I need is the housing. It’s really all cosmetic at the end of the day.

Is the original taillight housing that’s currently cracked on my truck that Ford put on at the factory not also Chinese junk (or something similar)?
$875 is NOT a good price AT ALL! fordtruckman sent that ebay link. swapping the BLIS takes like than 5 min to do. easier to do that than program a new BLIS module.
I'd be happy to sell you mine right LED OEM tail light...not sure if i should break up my set though haha

Something like this one, new condition with BLIS installed. Just swap out the BLIS and you won't have to program it. Hold onto it in case yours dies later.

$500

Look around more you might find a deal.
Sometimes members here sell taillights too.
ME ME ME! should i break up my set?!

That is up to you.
Chances are someone will need the other side at some point? I dunno. I never broke up my set but it did take long time to sell them (because of Chinese knockoffs).

@crazywayne311 if you're willing to break up your set, by all means I'll buy it from you.

But I think I'm still a little confused and want to confirm. I don't need a tail light with a BLIS module, since I have a working one at the moment, correct?

This is not to say I'm not willing to buy yours and keep another module around just in case, but just want to make sure.

The body shop is going to be doing it anyway once they fix the rest of the paint, scuffs, etc.

You want a tail light that is outfitted for BLIS. There may be lower end trims that may not have the tails equipped, but I cannot confirm that.

If you buy a brand new tail, they may automatically come with new BLIS modules which you just swap it out for your existing BLIS module.
Pretty straightforward.

That's how I ended up with two new modules as I ordered two new tails. I just swapped my existing to skip the Forscan work.
