Tailgate button located on the tailgate is now working intermittently, key fob will open it, tailgate switch on the dash and using the door keypad will not open it. It worked great until I picked my truck up from the dealer today. My truck in being serviced to update 13 modules that have not been update OTA. Getting this work done was an extremely painful process.

From my experience on this issue every time you take your truck in for service ask them to query if all your modules are up to date. If your truck is still under warranty getting them to perform the operations might not be a huge issue. My truck is out of warranty due to mileage, Ford OTA group stated that my truck has not been getting updates. I’ve only had one successful update since I purchased the truck in July 2021. The Customer relations department knows this, it’s all documented by the OTA group. Ford’s response is “it’s out of warranty and my responsibly”. Ford did cover part of the labor costs but will not step up and cover the total cost even though their documentation shows my truck has had an OTA issue since I purchased it and still under bumper to bumper warranty. I was told keep all my paperwork and if there is ever a recall I could request a refund.
Now my truck has lost functionality from when I took it in for service. I’ve got a call out to my dealer about the issue and have not received a return call.
In my opinion Ford no longer cares about their customers, about their satisfaction with Ford’s product.
