SYNC4's 12" screen display is beautiful when used for full-screen external video input (NAViKS HDMI Video Interface)

Ordered mine last week, finally came in today. Didn’t take long to install. Plug and play for sure. Didn’t come with a manual but the videos they posted on install was simple enough to follow.

Pushing the back button on the steering wheel never worked for me. There is a wire with a button included that plugs into the mode port of the unit. That button is used to activate it.
So far it’s working as described. I have an Amazon FireTV stick plugged in and it works!

When I have more time I’d like to get some cameras hooked up to it. I have the 360 cams already but wanted a trailer camera option and also with a bed topper my bed cam is blocked now. This will definitely fill in those gaps.

I was going to get the Ford trailer camera setup but due to parts shortage and my 2021 job 1 truck they didn’t prewired it so I’d need to get a different wire harness which is back ordered. This is a cheaper route than the Ford options and plus it adds other video functionality.

my back button does not work either. They are waiting on someone to bring them a platinum and limited to program the back button.

That explains it! It was driving me nuts watching that video over and over again to see if he was pushing another button with the back button. I have a Platinum. They should put a disclaimer on their site so others don’t waste time.

I guess when they do figure out the limited and platinum there’s no OTA updates for us.

I see..I just sold my 21 and had to leave it in the truck as i didnt have time to remove. So i will be getting another one too, but they told me to wait after Oct 5 they are finishing a update.

Good luck with that. I've been scouring ebay for months looking for a used one. These trucks being so new, there is little hope of finding one second hand.

Does your phone have to be plugged into a cable to the unit? Wondering if I could cast my phone to it via bluetooth... Or could I plug a chromecast or firestick into it and create a hotspot for either..

Asking bc I normally just have my phone plugged into a charging cable. Am looking for a way to stream football games on Sundays for my kids when we are coming home from our games.. I have no interest in watching, listening is fine - but like many others have said - the new 12" screen is so nice - it would be a shame not to be able to utilize it.

Your phone would have to be plugged to stream from it. I tested on my iPhone using the lightning HDMI adapter, but I personally use a firestick and trucks hotspot. Hotspot comes on when I start the truck and the firestick does to and it auto connects so no need to mess around with the connection.

The 12" screen is amazing. I've watched a few games on it already.

If the HDMI input was used by a stick that supported miracast (or whatever casting protocol), why wouldn't he be able to cast his phone to Sync4 screen?

I suppose you can but since the "stick" is already accomplishing the task.... I kept it simple. too many radio signals the aliens might come down for a visit. I thought about putting in an Apple TV box to airplay with my iPhone but its an overkill for me when I can easily swap the HDMI around and plug in the phone.

I have noticed my screen fluttering a few times while driving down the road, and even going dark on me when I start the truck, never splashing the Ford logo etc. After a few minutes of being powered off, I tried again and it came back on. My family and I are on a road trip and it didn’t start up when we were prepping to leave our hotel Saturday. I removed the battery negative and reconnected it and it worked fine. I don’t know if this is an issue caused by the navics or if it is software update related or something along those lines.
I don’t like it…
