Well, I’m still having problems getting my iPhone to mirror properly. I’m not sure what’s going on. It works sometimes, and randomly. And when it has worked I am only getting some of the screen mirrored. YouTube, Hulu, videos, etc will not auto rotate and play full screen like it has since I bought the unit months ago. Not sure what the deal is? Anyone have any similar problems or suggestions

Not the unit !!! It’s something with your phone . Unit has nothing to do with rotation of screen it simply mimics your phone.

Grab a streaming stick/box and connect it to your phones hotspot. It’s a much better experience and you can use your phone without worrying about what happens on the screen. My iPhone works perfectly fine but when i use it but rarely do.

What streaming sick/box do you guys recommend. I hooked up my first gen Apple TV to it. Power only works when truck is running. It was pretty laggy and kept disconnecting from my mobile hotspot connection. Was cool to see Apple TV on the screen though. What is the next best option? How would something like a fire stick work?

has worked flawlessly up until about a month ago now it won’t connect 9/10 times and when I finally get it to mirror it’s not the full screen like it used to be or auto rotate to full screen like used to. It’s about 1” smaller all way around screen.

Did you call them they will work with you on troubleshooting? I don’t have any issues as others have stated also. I have tried my iPhone , Apple TV box and iPad mini. No problems

just got off the phone with them. He gave me some suggestions on testing the hdmi adaptor on a tv inside my house to see if that is the issue and hooking up other devices to the adaptor to test if they work.Like I said earlier, my laptop and Apple TV did work just fine. And those don’t use the adaptor, So it may be my adaptor.

has anyone had to replace these adaptors?Mines brand new and in great condition…

This is what my screen looks like when plugging in fire stick 4k. I just am not having the best of luck here lol. Sucks too, worked flawlessly with hdmi adaptor for months. Returned and ordered the base model fire stick in hopes that solves the display issue. And yes, this fire stick worked fine and display was perfect when tested on a tv inside the house.

interesting. I had the 4k as well. Not max. Plugged right into the unit
I thought about plugging it straight in but wanted the option to change to a Roku or Chromecast without pulling my truck apart. I also connect my laptop and use it as a second screen when I am working in my truck and connect my phone from time to time so this gives me the most flexibility.

Update: well I got the gen 3 fire stick and plugged into naviks unit. It worked right away. Thought that was that. Put all my trim pieces back on, etc. went to start it back up try it out and the display was messed up again, same thing as the picture I sent above.

mad that I had to undue all plastic trim again, but I got back to it… I unplugged everything from the naviks unit a couple of times and finally it worked, normal full screen. (I also did this with the 4k fire stick I had, but at the time I thought since it’s still not working, I will get the original 1080p gen3 edition that must be the issue - this screen can’t handle 4k. Don’t think that’s the case as the 4k edition can run different display resolutions i Learned, and another users 4k edition works fine )

so now I’m Hesitant to button all the trim pieces back on again. I’m not sure if my unit is faulty somehow?? From all the hdmi adopter problems, now this fire stick. ?? It’s gotta be the hdmi plug in I’m guessing?? Talk about frustrating. Is very sweet when it works! Not sure what the deal is.
End of the rant - I got it working as should and I temporarily just popped the bottom trim piece in. Back inside for the night. Will test out in morning to see if it’s still full screen and normal

As a side note I do have aftermarket system in my truck since day 1. A 10” sub hooked to a 5 channel amp hooked to a pre amp expensive module that retains and integrates into the factory screen. Not sure if any of this can be causing a problem. Doubtful as it’s seeming a buggy, flickering, not stable hdmi connection

thoughts anyone?
