Hey guys. I am going to buy the naviks today.
https://naviks.com/i-24077256-2021-...4-camera-inputs-left-right-front-trailer.html

I am getting this, but I can't tell if if should reply yes or no to the question if I have an OEM navigation system. I have a 2021 Ford F150 XLT, and was hoping someone could help me understand. I am pretty sure I have the OEM, I have all the navigation buttons to click on. Please let me know if anyone can help!

Do you have builtin NAV in your truck? If so answer is yes if not answer is no

I have the navigation screen. So I believe the answer is yes. I just thought everyone had this so why would the option to say no even be there?

Because not everyone has connected nav. I have the nav screen in mine too. But, after my 3 month trial the connection ran out. Even though the screen is still there and shows my truck moving down the road I can enter a destination, see traffic updates etc....

Rumor is NavTv has an equivalent unit in development as well. They already have a solution for the 8" screen.

So are you saying I should have said no to the OEM question?

I think it depends if they are referring to connected Nav and whether or not you have connected Nav in your truck. I believe this is what @nicholsbradley was trying to confirm with you.
I would confirm prior to ordering to be sure.

It does not rattle and I would have to tear my truck apart to show you. For myself the way I wanted it I used the cubby hole and placed my apple tv in there. I pulled off the side console trim and I drilled a hole big enough for HDMI to go straight through. The trim covers it right up. I also converted my apple tv box to use 12volts instead of 120V. But there are several ways you could do it without any drilling. For example, the glove box as an apple remote does not need line-of-sight. Or whatever device you choose to use.
Hey I ordered my Naviks, but I am not sure how you can get the hdmi cord outside of the car trim without drilling a hole. Do you think you could send a picture to show where you at least drilled the hole and how you covered it up?
I have the bucket seat, so my console is a little different and I am trying to figure that out.

I just installed mine without drilling a hole. I ran the HDMI inside the driver side of the console trim and had it come out between the console and my driver's seat. My plan is to use a fire stick and sometimes a Lightning to HDMI adapter connected to my iPhone so this was the ideal place for me. I am running the micro usb cable into my console for USB power at the back corner of the center console held down on the inside with a small piece of electrical tape. I used a regular HDMI cable and a HDMI female to female adapter.

Personally Fire Sticks are my least favorite streaming box because of all of the ads and junk but I have Comcast cable and will be using the Xfinity Stream app. I need to be connected to my home via VPN to trick the app into thinking I am home while using it. I could only install the OpenVPN app on Fire or Chromecast devices. Chromecast doesn't have the Xfinity Stream app without sideloading and the current available apk is very out of date and somewhat unusable so it only left me with one choice. An added bonus is the remote is the perfect size to keep in the thin slot next to my cupholders.

Sorry I don’t have that truck anymore but I pulled trim off drivers side console and drilled straight into the center console compartment were usb ports are . Nothing there to hit are worry about . On my 22 model I put in upper glove box

Is anyone having trouble after iPhone software update to new iOS 16 or higher? It seems this update has stopped the HDMI adapter from working. I can no longer hold the back button and see my iPhone or load an app, Hulu, Netflix, etc.
I plugged in my laptop to the HDMI and it mirrors my laptop just fine.

I have seen a few different things regarding this topic. This is potentially a bug, and apple is working on releasing an update. Or it is true, this HDMI adapter will no longer work due to internet providers and tv providers and coporations cracking down on "pirating"
See this link for more: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254300916?page=1

Please let me know if any of you guys are experiencing this. I haven't really plugged my phone in and used the naviks mirroring in a few weeks, which is when my phone automatically updated to iOS 16. But I am certain it is from this new iOS update.

I am on iOS 16.2 (20C5058d) beta and iPhone 14 pro max. I used it yesterday on my way to airport no issues.

Well, after more digging, I think I figured out my own problem. But it is weird because I never had this setting adjusted before and it worked fine before. I went into airplay settings on my iPhone and turned "Automatically Airplay to TVS" to "never" and that instantly fixed it. ??

Like I said, I never had a problem before or had to adjust that iPhone setting. I'll take it though, I am happy.

On another topic regarding the sound on this Naviks device... I have never heard of using a flash drive with 1 song loaded on it in order to use the sound properly from your iPhone (or whatever device you're mirroring) ... I have always just had my iPhone connect to the trucks wireless apple CarPlay and then I plug in my iPhone to the HDMI adapter and boom .. flawless sound and video that doesn't lag or stutter. (Rare to stutter and lag in general, its usually cell connection based)

Thoughts???
