SYNC Not up to date

Just got 2021 f150 PB lariat back from dealer as not receiving sync updates. Dealer was unable to update and replaced apim. Hot truck back with what I believe is old code. And no updates avail.

since the dealer didn’t get current is fdrs sw update of APIM the way to get newer sync?

I was having similar issues with my truck. It was at the dealer for 2 months last summer and they determined I needed a new APIM. that was installed in December and they installed some updates but I was still behind. A few months ago I brought it back and they installed a new battery. That did the trick. The old battery was working but didn’t have 100% capacity so certain features were disabled. I’ve gotten regular updates since then and I’m almost caught up. I don’t get updates when I’m home due to poor cell service in my area. All updates have happened while I’m out.

Yes, the APIM updates are the ones that give you a newer Sync version. However, you can't just apply all the APIM updates and ignore the rest. Based on your Sync version, you are very far behind and need a lot of updates to be caught up.
