Sync 4 question

About 2 months ago my 12inch sync screen blacked out. The radio still works until the system tries to reboot, then it comes back on. I have had zero luck with doing both hard and soft reboot. I have also checked the fuses on both panels. Sometimes it randomly comes on. I also have zero backup camera when the screen is black. Does it seem like it is an apim issue

Could just be the screen itself.
I don't think you will know for sure unless you were to do some part swapping.

Sadly, I think you are going to have to rely on the dealerships decisions on how to troubleshoot.

A 72 hour subscription to PTS *may* help. They have diagnostic and troubleshooting guides in there for several different issues. However I am not sure if that particular issue is covered

Thanks for the info. I'm wondering also if it could be a weak battery I've seen talk of that on forums before. Guess after my 4 day run I will swing by the auto parts store and have it tested

I did get my OTA 4.2.4 update a week or two ago. Since then my screen went black twice and came back whithin a minute I would say. In both occasion, I was driving for less then 2 minutes when the screen went black. Did you get the problem again?

Yeah my problem has been going consistently. But between changing jobs and moving I haven't had time to get it to a dealership. Thank God it's still under warranty

Sorry to hear that. Is there some patterns in your reboot? Like mine they were pretty much the same....rebooted after few minutes of driving then came back within a minute.

Yes there are so if I come and go from truck 3-5 tines with it not running the screen will begin to light up and then work.
