Hi Kanuck,

That's exactly what the dealer originally did, put in a brand new screen and nothing changed. So that's why everyone is at a loss.
I don't think it is a software problem but a hardware problem. Reason being it goes away after some time.

Just a thought, with you being in MN, is there a chance it is moisture related or temp related. A component dries out or warms up. Possible a cable that has gotten wet.

It's weird because your truck is not reporting any codes that have anything to do with this. Maybe @Jesse-Infotainment has some insight? He might not see this tag, so if he doesn't respond here, message him with the VIN to see if he can provide some guidance.

Thanks sent him a message. If it wasn't under warranty I would have already been replacing modules ha! I get that its throwing no codes so I am sure thats why Ford doesn't want to just try and replace the APIM. They did the screen so not sure what else it could be? Could the TCU be part of it? Ford pass and all works fine but does that have anything to do with a signal from your phone to the APIM that decodes a video stream like AA or carplay? Doesn't matter if its USB or wireless. Cameras work and display fine.

After chatting with Jesse I bit the bullet and ordered a cheap APIM and cable from ebay from a totaled vehicle that matches my year and trim. Will program it via FDRS and give it a shot since Ford won't replace it since they say its good based on no codes. But have to try. Will show up tomorrow it appears.

Anything special I should do? Or just run the program to setup as a new APIM? Will doing this do all the updates it probably needs or just put my vehicle data into it and then I need to run the update process after that? I want to plan my time accordingly!

This is for sure a question better suited for him, but if the APIM matches up with your truck already, I think you can just put it in and use FDRS to write the config from your truck to it and then you can just go through the module update process normally. Again: I would consult with him to make sure.

Wanted to give an update. Ford finally replaced the APIM and all works fine now...but. I had spoken with Jesse and he had said to just by a cheap APIM if I didn't want to wait for ford. So I ordered one with less features I could try and return. Installed it and recorded me doing it and it worked. Sent the video to the dealer to have them send into Ford proving that changing the APIM out solved the issue. Ford responded and called me and wanted to put "Tokens" on my system to monitor it for a week or 2. I agreed. After that the dealer called me and told me the next steps they were allowed to do...and that was replace the LVDS cable! Ha. I was like WTF.... So I let them do it of course and obviously that didn't work....They FINALLY, even after me showing them the issue, replaced the APIM and all is well. So in the end I got a new screen, new cable and new APIM. Man you would think they would just plug in a module and see if it fixes the issue like I did.

I'm on 23291. Thanks for the advice to PM @rugedraw! I don't drive very much each day since I work remote. Gotten to the point where I have even chanrged my battery to make sure I'm above the ridiculous 85% battery level.
I work from home as well and only drive on the weekends most often. I found the battery was constantly below level once I wasn't driving as often anymore. I bought a battery tender and keep it hooked up all during the week. It has completely solved my issues.

I have the Noco 5X1 installed on my 2024 F150 and wife's 2024 Escape. Both function better and get lots of OTA updates since using the battery tender.

I believe most people use the obdlink app or forscan to read battery %. You can also figure it out by getting the battery voltage and referencing an agm battery charge chart.

I use an OBDLink MX+ and the included OBDLink App. With the free Ford extension that will display both Volts and Battery SOC%.
