Swap to tow mirrors?

My 23 Platinum with max tow has the standard size folding mirrors w/camera and I am wanting to swap out to “Tow” mirrors that have camera, fold, and retract in and out. Can this be done and how is the retracting switch added? curious how much this would cost or any vendors in central Fl. ?

I myself just added Tow mirrors to my 2023 Rocky Ridge F-150 and went with Boost Auto. I love them and they’re great looking! Definitely resembles the factory OEM style Tow mirrors. And if you go onto their website, they give you tons of options and it’s a simple plug and play so there’s tons on DIY YouTube videos for every brand truck. I hope this was helpful.

Power fold and power extension with cameras and BLIS. AKA top end mirror. You'll have to use Forscan to setup the power extend. Cheaper mirrors can be bought with manual extension and shouldn't need Forscan. The 360 cameras will need to be calibrated using FDRS because Forscan can't do it anymore. Dealer can do that for unknown fee if you don't have FDRS at home.

Not sure why every other model of tow mirror has black caps but the highest level has chrome. You'd have to buy black caps if you want that look.

I have these and I like them because I tow less than driving around.

I did the factory kit was about $2900 comes with the retract button and new trim for door switches. Did not come with connector for retract switch or any wiring kit. Mine was more involved than I assume yours will be. I had manual tow mirrors.

This goes to show that it’s worth the $400 for the tow mirror option from the factory otherwise you will spend $2000 to $3000 to add yourself.

Yep. I had tow mirrors but power ones are the next trim level up. I didn’t need all the other stuff. Sure it’s cheaper going aftermarket but on a new truck wanted oem

You should have the wiring ready for it in your platinum. Part number ML3Z-17696-DA comes with everything you need and you can do it yourself. Very simple. They run about $1500 Includes the new switch panel for telescoping function.

We attempted to order factor tow mirrors from dealer for our '23 XL HDPP.

Part number - ML3Z 17696 BA

The dealer was unable to make them work as a bunch of codes were thrown and the dash was doing some wonky things. I feel that it should have worked but I do not know.

I have read that all mirrors are not pined the same. So it may not be easy as plug and play. Need to find a wire diagram for both mirrors and compare.
