Just got 1000 miles and during this time I have noticed that going in straight line my wheel is canted to the right about 2 degrees, so I took to dealer for front wheel alignment, they said its straight and that the steering wheel is not canted, so i drive off the lot and it's still canted to right when driving straight. these dealers are so full of bs these days. So, what now? still need to fix this steering wheel issue? Any ideas for how to fix?

I would start by going to another dealor for them to look at it. Hopefully you can find a dealor that has a good alignment technician. You may be better off at a dedicated alignment shop. I know if my steering wheel was off one way or the other while driving straight it would bother me to.

you need to have a Ford technician ride along with you.
most dealerships will blow you off if they don’t visually see the issue (f*cking annoying).

Steering wheel alignment is not directly 'fixed / indexed' to road wheel alignment - the road wheels can be aligned to correct spec with the steering wheel at an 'angle'.

The proper fix is to adjust the L&R tie-rod ends equal amounts (longer on one side, shorter on the other) so the road wheels are still properly aligned while also achieving a 'straight / plumb' steering wheel.

It's standard best practice for a competent alignment tech to first set the steering wheel 'straight / plumb' then adjust the road wheels accordingly without allowing the steering wheel to move.

Perhaps you and your dealer need to agree on what constitutes a 'straight / plumb' steering wheel before they set the road-wheel alignment.

Good Luck!

good luck pal. took my 22' lariat FOUR TIMES to get an alignment and i have the exact same issue. wheel is about 2 degrees to the right for the truck to drive straight. tried to explain to them that i want the wheel straight and it isn't the road crown because even if i'm on the opposite side of the road where it slopes left, when i have my wheel straight it still drifts to the right.

this has been an issue since I got the truck brand new. going to just cut my losses even though I have an extended warranty and pay an alignment shop to get the wheel straight

worst part is i asked them to let me try another truck to see if its just me and if this issue appears on all trucks then ill leave it at that, but with a full lot they're either sold or loaners are out.

Mone was canted to the right coming from the factory. I noticed it pretty much as soon as I took it off the lot. I immediately scheduled an appointment to have it fixed. At least on this issue the dealer responded correctly. It was realigned under warranty. Things are good now.

If you go back to that dealer, request the realignment guy test drive it while you are in it. Dare him to drive it with the steering wheel in the straight up position.

I'd take it to yet another dealer and if they fix it, i'd rub first dealers nose in it to let them know what i think of them.
If second dealer is useless too, I'd take it to a alignment shop and send the bill to Ford in Dearborn after i get the mailing address from Ford Customer Service.
