A couple questions.

1. My new F150 XLT powerboost hybrid has about 3600 miles. Is it too late to get the extended warranty? Is Grainger still the cheapest and what option is good?

2. When is the first service due?

3. I did some calculation the other day. There is a 36 gallon gas tank. The dashboard showed me a range of 576 miles after I filled up. When filling up there was probably 80 miles left. When I do the math it comes to only 16 mpg but onboard computer has been showing 20-24 mpg after drives and shows around 23 to 24 mpg after long drives. So am I getting only 16mpg?

Extended warranty can be bought up to 10k without a surcharge, 36k normal pricing. Granger is probably the cheapest.

I’d do the first service now. It’s officially due at 10k.

The mileage calculator is inaccurate. Hand calculate by miles driven divided by gallons pump for best accuracy.

It's probably not 16, but it's also probably not 24. Over 40,000 thus far, I have averaged 17.1 in my Powerboost. I do tend to drive it "vigorously" though.

Isn't that too low? The reason I bought this truck was because I was looking at mileage charts and it showed an impressive hybrid mpg. I drive it mostly on Eco mode.

Unless they changed it, I believe the Powerboost only comes in the 30.6 gallon tank. If you’re doing MPG calculations based off expected gallons to full, you may be off. I’m getting overall average of about 23.5, I don’t use the eco mode, just watch the screen with the bar that shows when it’s in electric vs hybrid mode.
I’m betting the computer is pretty accurate, but as someone said you need to calculate based off how many gallons put in at the tank. Not what should be going in to make it full.

The computer is close. You have to track each purchase including odometer and calcualte mileage from that.

1 - If you like the truck and plan on keeping it, go to Granger and get the ESP Premium Care and get the LED light option too.

2 - 3600 for the first oil change is good and you should get it now. In fact IMO you should have done it a little sooner but that is just me.

3 - If you have a PB then you have a 30 gallon tank. It is the only tank that the PB comes with.

I have found that the mileage shown on the display is pretty accurate and often shows a slightly smaller number than what I calculate by hand. You really need to judge based on a few fill-ups even with hand calculations because the pump shut off point will vary. It is possible, but unlikely that the display is very far off.

Where can I find recommended oil change mileages and why doesn't the truck tell me service is due?

Soo this is still one weird thing I don't understand your truck is defaulted to 10,000 miles between oil changes.... idk why or why that cannot be changed.
I always go with with 5,000-6,000 miles between getting works package at my dealer.... I just figure it is cheap insurance to get it done around there.

Others mentioned the tank size ?. After a few hand calculations, if you want the dash to be more in line with the hand calculation, you can adjust the AFE Bias in Engineering Mode. Hold steering wheel "OK" button, start truck while still holding OK button until engineering mode appears. Scroll to AFE Bias and adjust it.

When doing the hand calculation, you need to be consistent when filling your tank. Fill the tank on the slowest speed (this prevent the amount of bubbling in the tank). When the fill handle stops, let it sit for 30 seconds. Then fill it again until the fill handle stops. This will ensure you are filling the tank the same way each time.

In NJ they fill the tank.
