Is there a way to have the parking brake automatically apply every time the car is turned off?

I hate the parking brake design and location, but I think it might be necessary to use it unfortunately. I park it on the slightest hill-like a 1-2% grade. When I shift it from park to drive, it makes a huge clunk occasionally if I didn't use the parking brake. Pretty sure that can't be good right?
Come to a stop, open door (truck goes into park and puts on ebrake) then turn it off.

My Subaru has the eBrake just to the left of the gear selector and I prefer that location. Reaching under the dash because that’s where the old release used to be is just bad nostalgia. We are capable of finding the cool electronic emergency brake in a new and ergonomically friendly location.
My wife’s Subaru has the button next to the shifter, but my Titan had a pedal for the parking brake and I’m still not used to having the button so I keep stomping on nothing haha I’ll get it eventually.

The brake on my 21 just does what it feels like that day.

It is supposed to self energize if shifted into park without the brake being fully depressed.
(I occasionally shift to park without the brake, and e-brake energize.

Dont even think about it now as a after starting and in gear, a little bit of throttle disengages it.

But still, no distinct pattern as to when it comes on.

very interesting. You should 1000000% not be able to shift into park or reverse without the brake depressed.
