Hi guys, this is my first truck, so I have some questions. I have put an order in for a 2023, but I found a 2021 I might go with instead. My question is based around ride quality. Are there shocks I can put on to make the ride better (more like the ram)? I see a lot of talk about blistons. I do not think I need to level the truck., if that helps. If not, I did order CCD on the '23. I was told it would make the ride better, but I cannot find much information or reviews on it. Both trucks are platinums with the tow package and the hybrid engine. Any comments are appreciated.

I’ve never driven a ram, so what is your idea of better and what’s your complaint on how it rides now? I thought my new truck rode like a Cadillac but I couldn’t take all the swaying and wallowing so I installed fox coilovers and shocks.

I think the F150 rides better than my 2016 Ram 1500. What do you want to improve upon?

Why do you think the ride needs improved? Do you think it makes sense to drive it first?

Have a 22 RCBS 4x4. 5.0 FX4. No need to replace anything

My 2021 loaded Lariat 502A Powerboost crewcab has FX4 with 5.5 bed and 20" dark gray wheel option along with appearance package (almost no chrome). I was surprised how planted and minimal bodyroll it has. I test drove (before ordering mine) a King Ranch that felt really floaty on road and kind of like a boat. I was expecting to need to add a rear sway bar from Helwig but mine seems to handle very flat so I left suspension alone. Rides great but potholes still are firm.

My Ram beats my Lariat for sure.. coil springs are just a different breed. Obviously you do sacrifice payload capacity though.

For what it's worth, my '21 F150 rides smoother than any of my previous "luxury sport" cars (i.e. Jag, BMW, Audi, or Mini). It does not ride like trucks of yesteryear. I tow a lot, so I wanted to control some of the float as I hit bumps, so I swapped the rear shocks with Fox 2.0, and the increased dampening rate really helped that. The truck still rides smoother than every car I've ever driven, save the old Grand Marquis boat. It's the best of both worlds. My wife always wants to go in my truck instead of her Bronco....
