I have a loaner while my PB is getting an oil change and addressing an issue with the front camera.

The loaner is a 2024 5.0 STX. While not the same trim level as I have, it is nice overall and I kind of like the STX front grill as well.

So the funny thing is, the entire drive home I assumed it was the 2.7 because it felt kind of anemic... I popped the hood when I got home and - it's a coyote!

This isn't a dig on the 5.0 at all, but I'm glad I have a PB. Admitted, I didn't give it more than 30-40% throttle, but I was sure it was the 2.7 until I popped the hood. With A SC, I can imagine how much fun it would be though.

Gotta get the RPMs over 3,500 to wake up the Coyote Symphony. Indeed, it's a bit of a dog down low. Beat on it.

I had a '24 V8 XLT for the last week while my PB was getting the tank sensor swapped. It averaged 16mpg for the week, but damn, the tranny shifted like butter. Was glad to get my PB back.

Regular, and sport. It was certainly more eager in sport, but lacked the mid-range 'my phone just flew out of my pocket into the void' tourqe that I am used to.

Sorry to hear that, I put money down on one, none available to test drive until recently, had to search online just to see an actual picture of the front gill at the time.

Please do not let that ruin or influence your experience. I am used to the 3.5PB with a tune making 100+ extra HP over stock.

It's a wonderful engine and many users like @JExpedition07 will sing its praises. You made a great choice. ?

Since you're tuned I doubt you'll be impressed.

I have some scheduled maintenance coming up and I'm getting a loaner and hopefully it will be another F150 variation...Hopefully not an Edge again.

Hm, I found the 2.7l lack luster compared to my 5.0l. My 5.0l is no slouch but I am running premium fuel in it too, it will run on regular but just like the eco-boost engines not as well. 12:1 compression on the 5.0l. Regularly get 20-21 mpg with mixed driving 50/50. Blows my old 4.0l tacoma away the best it would do mixed was all 17mpg with 236hp.
