Built in navigation was killed after 2021 from my understanding. My truck has it and it works great without subscription. After that it has been an online connected option only. Pay up or you just get a moving map with no navigation features. Supposedly it was because of chip shortages but seems more likely they just wanted the subscription money. You can manage subscriptions like that on Ford website, don't need a smartphone.
My 22 has built in nav + 3yr sub to connected services. Even after ford kills the data on it, I still expect relevant updates via wifi when the time comes.
I was driving with UNconnected built in navigation on road several years old that didn't exist on the map earlier this summer. Road had been there 4+ years. I'm not sure if that is an issue with built in navigation or the bad source they are using. Another thread mentioned Here as the company in use. They show things that have been gone for decades on maps so not surprised a road was missing. ?
