Sirius XM Presets Resetting

Jesse attempted to help me a little bit with this in the FDRS thread, but I wanted to break it out so that it didn't clutter that thread (anymore than it already is) but mainly so it is easier for someone else to find in the future if they have the same issue.

My problem is that my Sirius XM preset reset back to defaults (80's on 8, Hits 1, Margaritaville, etc) at least every two weeks, sometimes more often. About 4 weeks ago (on a Sunday afternoon) Jesse had me delete all of my profiles from the truck, erase all of the seat presets, erase all key pairings, and start over. I created 3 profiles, one for each seat button preset, and tied the first and the third to a key. I only have two keys so the second one was not tied to anything. On all three profiles I set my presets up like I wanted them. Since they they have reliably reset every other Sunday afternoon. So now I at least know when I will have to reprogram all of my presets, but would still like to find a solution so I don't have to keep doing that.

Any thoughts? Since we know they live in the as-builts, could it be something corrupted on the cloud that keeps getting pushed back to the truck?

The presets are also saved on sirius's side. Not sure if you checked this. have you created a listener in sirus. There is a menu in sirius to create a profile for a listener.

EDIT: Your Truck also hasnt received the IPC update. You have 6 updates available none are the IPC update that came a month or two ago. May need to go through and verify some of the as build in the truck some of what I see reported online have been changed from what they were from Factory.

Interestingly, I recently tried to change some of my presets and it wouldn't let me. They show correctly on the preset page but when I try to cycle through them using the steering wheel controls, it still uses the old presets. Not only that, but I even tried to just delete all of my presets and start over. The truck still thinks my old presets are in place.

Will check out the Sirius listener profile after lunch, can't remember if I have done that. I know I have IPC changes in Forscan, can't remember what they all are, will have to look back at my spreadsheet.

I had that happen one time - also had the seat memory change and stations change order? I think it was the second key that caused it? Has not happened in the last few months.

I did have a use profile for Sirius, it was the same Sirius profile on all 3 driver profiles

inside of that profile were favorites that are not mine, are not what it keeps loading, and it won’t let me delete.

I completely deleted my user so it shouldn't try to pull any presets from the app and should only use the ones from the truck. Guess it will take up to 2 weeks to know if this helped or not.

19 days since I deleted the online user profile and no reset so far. Hopefully that was the magic bullet.

Absolutely unbelievable, I jinxed myself. They reset today at 7:21PM Central time. I watched it happen. When I turned the truck on my presets were normal, and by time the "Sirius XM loading" message went away they were reset. No personalized listener existed this time to upload from the cloud with. My favorites reset to the same thing they always do:

80's on 8
FM 89.3 (never resets)
The Highway
Hits 1
1st Wave
Radio Margaritaville
Seriously Sinatra
Laugh USA
NFL Radio
FoxNews

My current station does not retune.

Edit: My initial post said it reset every other Sunday. This reset on a 3rd Sunday, it's highly plausible it. was always reseting on the 3rd Sunday and not the 2nd because I wasn't writing down when it happened so I could have just miscounted in my memory.

That is wild and I don't have any solution.

The only time I see presets change on display is when OTA update stuff is happening. It's never been permanent and is back to normal next time I start truck. It takes a few seconds after starting truck and the display with be rapidly flashing in the presets as they change to random values.

My initial thoughts are somehow my APIM has some kind of corruption that makes it either reset a block of registers or re-download those registers from the mothership. And since it is corrupted it will never update the as-builts. Thing is this has been going on for over a year, through multiple APIM updates.

I have no idea. I always hate to even suggest a master reset but may be worth it if you havent.

Someone reported this OTA coming in to their truck today. Maybe it helps the cause?

It's possible. Mine reset way more frequently than I get OTAs, but perhaps it's the same root cause. Maybe I'll hold off on a master reset until I can get this update installed.
