So im having an issue i never have had happen before in any vehicle ive had and maybe yall have or know the fix.

When i turn on the heat (defrost and floor vents) it runs fine get hot etc. The problem when i turn it completly off it still "sends" hot air through the face vents. Not forced air like the blower pushes just hot air with no power. If i turn the temp knob to cold it sends cold air out the face vents with no power-system completly off again no blower no sound just pushing air out.

Any ideas?

Sounds like Ford has constant air flow through the truck. That is why there are air vents in the back panel of the cab. Between the cab and box. My dual zone does it also.

Huh never have noticed it in mine in the 2 yr ive owned it. So do you just turn the temp knob to something comfortable when you have the system turned off

I have mine set to auto all the time... Then dial my temp. I think I have gone manual maybe 5 times in 41 months.

Mine does the same thing at 30+ mph. It is air pressure blowing through the cowl air intake. If you turn Recirc on, it should close off the cowl intake and the airflow will stop.

I don't think it's "normal", but possibly normal for the Gen 14 F150, where they let engineers try to reinvent the wheel with nearly everything.

When i press the recirc it does stop the air from outside coming in but it also means the system is on either heat or ac. When no heat or ac is on (no lights on ) thats when the air comes in. Can you operate the recirc with all of it off? I know its weird.

Yep normal def. does not mean normal anymore

Ford engineers try to improve the air quality inside the truck... the system is far from perfect. Ford thinks we don't know how to use the system but they do and made things automated. They have the recirculation on a timer as per a previous thread a couple of years ago. Something you get use to.

That adds to the weirdness as well. I seen the thread on the recirc turning off after a set amount of time but my recirc never turns off until i hit the button (no light on recirc) unless it turns off but the light stays on? ?

just a update (if anybody cares) took truck to dealer on tuesday got it back yesterday. Good to go now. Air is NOT supposed to come through the vents when heat/air is off. They told me they checked for codes and it was throwing something to the effect of recirc door inop. I cant remember the actual code. The gear that controls the door broke so the door was open letting engine air inside. So new door and new actuator problem solved
