Simplest Way to Generate a DTC?

I'm testing out a new OBD2 scanner and want to create the simplest, most non-destructive way to generate a CEL/fault code.

I was thinking of unplugging the Mass Airflow Sensor until I dug through a few threads and found out that we don't have one.

I've unplugged the "pedestrian sounder" to create a fault code in the past but that requires bodily contortion.

What do y'all think? Just leave the fuel door open? Suggestions?

I'm not sure the air dam code would show up on a generic OBD scanner, I thought it was only readable by forscan or other dealer level tools?

I was suprised that my BlueDriver returned ACM DTC's so I suppose it's possible. I don't think the fuel door option will work since we don't have gas caps. Try sticking the funnel that's located with your jack tool kit into the fuel filler neck while the truck is running. That should throw a large EVAP leak code.

Reach under the dash and unplug the IPMA... I 100% guarantee you'll generate a code. ?

gosh, I was only going to suggest unplugging power from a fuel injector . . .

It's a modern ford so there's probably already some silent ones sitting in the computer as is. Are you wanting the MIL specifically to illuminate to practice resets? It's just like any other vehicle in that regards.
