@FaaWrenchBndr , thank you for keeping things professional. I see you are a retired aircraft mechanic. I was once an ASE A1-A8 tech a long time ago now myself.

For my 2024 F-150 I am proactively painting everything underneath that Ford didn't and because the body is aluminum and I have noticed that aluminum bodied F-150 trucks seem to fair much better than the previous generation steel bodied trucks I will concentrate my efforts on the frame and suspension components. I will make sure I flush out that frame every year too because dirt will collect inside of it and cause issues. In fact, the oil based rust protection products applied inside the frame might be where they are a good compromise. 😉
You’re welcome

Recently retired, the Covid years did me in. Quality technicians are darn hard to find. Especially away from the large cities.

i’ve been doing the same thing. Every oil change or tire rotation I spend a few minutes underneath touchup bits, and areas that need attention with Rustoleum.

So are you still working in the automotive industry or are you retired?

I’m a bit too young to retire (50) but if I could I would. I left the automotive industry almost 30 years ago now. Too cut throat and dishonest for me with the piece work style pay system.

The COVID years were I think a horrible time for America. America hit new lows during the COVID years. 🫤

Soon I will remove the front wheels and brakes and treat the surface rust and paint any unpainted metal including the front drive shaft and half shaft before the winter arrives here soon. I wish Ford would paint those parts so they wouldn't rust. 🤬 Even Toyota has cheaped out on this lately with their new Tundra although at least they paint the half shaft.

yeah, I’ve spent a good bit of time painting stuff over the last year

I have plans to spray the suspension and frame with black Cosmoline . Hopefully I’ll get that done before winter.
