Just when I thought I was done with my truck, this message popped up. At first, I thought it was due to me messing around with the assist settings to see what they do and decide if I will keep them on or off. When I picked up the truck, the setting was set to off and would get a message that the assist was switched to off every time I went in reverse. Well, I clicked it on, and not I get this message.

I did a little bit a digging into the owner's manual as it says, and I found this note highlighted in yellow. Seems that now that I installed a 3/5 lowering kit, the sensors need adjustments. Has anyone received this message after lowering their truck? If so, is it an easy driveway fix, or do I need to get the dealer involved?

Most likely a dealer adjustment. Any time you lift or lower the sensors are no longer correct would be my guess. Sure there’s a window they fall into for proper adjustment.

If you have a dealer do some sort of ride height re-zeroing please detail what the dealer did. Thank you.

I got that message all last weekend.
i didn’t drive the pickup anywhere but spent a lot of time playing with ForScan with the ignition on engine off.
Brought battery voltage down quite a bit.
Battery got some charge on my way to work monday and the fault has not returned.
I don’t know if that was the cause, but, there ya go.

edit—rear of truck has 1–3/8” lowering shackles and the 4x4 blocks removed.

I will be stopping by the dealer tomorrow to pick up some dealer installed parts that where not installed when I picked up my truck. I'll tell them to take a look at the message and see if they can fix it. I'll report back tomorrow.

Good morning, I would like to take a further look into your brake concerns. Could you please send us a message with your VIN and mileage?

If the battery gets low, you will get a warning like this. I have had this same issue twice. You will get this warning long before you get a battery warning. Start by charging the truck overnight. Do not connect the negative cable of the charger directly to the battery post. It needs to be on the other side of the BMS module, so the truck recognizes the battery has been charged. When you start the truck, the message should be gone. Then, drive the truck around for a half an hour or more.

If you drive short distances, or use your truck infrequently, this can also happen. This is a known issue. Also make sure your keys are stored out of the range of the truck.

I guess the 5 months the truck sat in quality control wasn't enough to take care of the stupid battery issues... Thank you Ford :like:

No thank you. The day I was going thru the options, I also approved the software update that I kept delaying. I have a feeling this "update" might have something to do with it. Yesterday I decided to disconnect the truck from the stupid cloud and avoid ruining my truck. To be honest, all these "safety assists" are nothing but a gimmick for substandard drivers that don't belong anywhere near a vehicle.

There was a semi-recent update that seemed to change the behavior when TC is off. I generally turn it off unless it's raining - since the update, if TC is off, I will always get the message when I back up. Turn TC on, and no message.

Likely not the same for you, but just in case this comes up in a future search.

Thank you for pointing it out! I do almost always click the TC button. Not sure if it's just me or what, but I feel the truck way more responsive when Advanced TC is turned off. Seems like it accelerates quicker having TC turned off. I'll do some testing when I get back home today.

It's not just you.

It is more responsive and I don't really give a fuck if I chirp a tire or something pulling out from a light. I'm well adept at managing oversteer and would rather have that happen, then the truck deciding to pull torque at the wrong moment..
