Software. If your button to toggle auto-updates on and off is grayed out, they will not be able to update the APIM the easy way and will have to use the method in TSB 22-2404 to get it to update. Most dealers will just the APIM won't update and replace it with a new one. They are on back-order, so if that is the case, you can expect to go pick up your truck in a few days and take it back when they're done.

Btw: Good luck getting them to listen to anything that you say. Telling them that some guy on the internet told you what needs to be done to fix your truck does not usually work out well. Every thing you say to the service advisor will go in one ear and out the other. Be prepared to be told your truck is up to date.

Attempting to get the APIM to finally install the USB files, doesn't hurt anything. Many a truck successfully updated before the replacement APIM arrived.

To try the TSB, you need the Mongoose adapter, access to FDRS and a serious of USB and ethernet cables. Up to you if you want to get your hands dirty or not.

Like the other Super Duties I've checked recently, your truck has no OTA history. Based on your Sync version, you are not fully up to date. I can check FDRS for modules pending updates when I get home later.

I just got my 2022 F350 6.7 Platinum back from my dealer after they replaced my GWM and supposedly updated my Sync and APIM. I had been stuck on an older version and they have been working with me. My VIN is 1FT8W3BT9NED70545. Here’s a screenshot of my current Sync version.

Can you please let me know what OTA and module updates are out there? Thanks in advance.

OTA is the ONLY way to update them now. No way to pull a download and put it on a USB stick.

Your truck does show some OTA history for a change. It shows you got an APIM update a week ago, but the release notes are missing, so I do not know which one it was. Vehicle history shows they updated the GWM and they tried to update the APIM, but were not successful in various tries. However, today they did a GWM swap and after they did that, the APIM update went through on the first try. So your truck got an APIM update OTA a week ago and whatever update the dealer applied today got you to Sync 23186 which is the latest for your truck.

I can check what modules you have pending updates from home later, but chances are that with Halloween tonight, you may have to remind me tomorrow to look into that.

It'll take some time before the updates done to your truck today will reflect on Ford's servers. The truck will eventually Sync up with the mothership.
