They ran the update process, but it seems they just clicked through everything because the process was done over the course of a few minutes. Only reason to do this is if they want the laptop for something else.

Yeah, he said it kept crashing on him and asked to keep it overnight. I'm guessing he just gave up. What do you suggest as my next steps?

What does 'kept crashing' mean? Can't help when the issue is reported via generic terms.

What does 'kept crashing' mean? Can't help when the issue is reported via generic terms.
They tried it again the next day and it failed two more times with the same error. Before the 3rd attempt, they tried rebooting the APIM, but same result when they tried to update it. I would have tried rebooting the GWM, but I digress.

Dealer is telling me I've been getting updates over the last few months, but I don't think that's correct.

OTA dashboard shows no OTA history in the past 60-90 days. OTA records are only kept that long in the system, so not sure what was sent or not prior to that.

darn - so they're not being honest with me then. Can you tell if i'm far behind? i might do the TSB that came out to update all the modules - hoping to get the airplay disconnecting and lack of audio issued resolved...

You're not missing anything of note, you already put the BC 1.4 initial on it. TRM and xDMs are new and don't really fix anything we've seen.

Interesting situation with ford customer care. 23 ford lightning lariat ER. Stopped receiving ota updates after dealer visit in September. Called ford and they informed me that I was behind on not only my sync but 3 or 4 other major updates(I assume bc 1.4 was one of them but unsure) they had me call dealership to schedule a fix and since I’m out of b2b warranty expect 4-6 hours of update time at normal rate. Dealership recommended calling back to OTA team at ford to try and solve before coming in. Called the team today who stated I have zero pending up dates and are all up to date. Both answers obviously can’t be correct. Hoping someone can help me shed some light on this

Your truck is on Sync 23291 which is one version behind the latest one. You do show the update to be on the latest Sync version pending, but no way of knowing when it will be sent OTA. The dealer could do it, but Ford does not pay them labor hours to perform modules updates unless there is a problem and you truck is fine. It is talking to the cloud just fine. The problem is the OTA process is garbage (for a lack of better words).

Also, your IPMA is already on the software from BC 1.4 beta. You could enable lane change assist and all of that if you wanted to with FORScan.

SoC is being reported at 100%, but the capacity is low at 49 of 80. I would try a BMS reset.

Edit: There is another OTA for the HVAC in queue waiting for this one to install before it will try to install.
This did the trick! It still wouldn't work when I was manually starting the update, but it was successful with the scheduled update. Thank you!

edit:
I just manually started the next one and that worked with no issues on the first try. Now I know to charge my battery and reset the BMS if I have this problem again. I'm guessing the one it was stuck on had a more strict requirement because it was set to take ~27 minutes instead of the usual 10 minutes.
