Just picked my truck up this week at auction, I had no idea this OTA situation was even a thing until tonight.

I’d like to assume if I’m hopelessly stuck, I can schedule for warranty service? seeing the lengths that some people have gone to to fix this themselves; I’m guessing that’s not as straightforward as I want to believe it should be?

Thank you, so for these in theory they will come as OTA's?

I'll keep it on the charger.
The APIM should update OTA but I am not sure about the other two updates. Other members will have a better answer about those.

Info on OTA updates and which modules can be updated OTA vs using FDRS software and connecting to your truck.
Thanks Paul. That’s great info. Appreciate you sharing. Could I bother you to check my VIN if you have chance?

Thanks so much Paul! Forgive my newbie-ness, but all of this is separate from (and inanition to) SYNC 4 updates, right? The whole mongoose/FDRS route feels intimidating having just picked up this truck. think I should try the dealership route, or is that a total waste of time?

Generally going to the dealer will be a waste of time for updates. Even if you have a warranty claim related to software/electronics, there’s no guarantee they do the updates (this happened on my explorer). I understand it seems very daunting, but if you follow the FDRS thread, read, reread, and rereread the attached document and/or the first couple of posts of the thread, the updates are a breeze. The hardest part is waiting for the updates to complete.
