Is that the "Superman" tire? Cause all I see is the "S" font for the comic book hero!
Here is the DOT code off my tires...they were made in Coopers Plant (UT), Texarkana, Arkansas...you can't get much more American Made than that, Boy Howdy!

The topic says it all.
Thanks in advance !
Since most here will recommend agressive treads like falkens or ko/2....

The cooper discoverer at3 are awesome in the wet and snow. They are not too bad off road as well.

I live in the NE Ohio snow belt, so get lots of snow. I have also tried numerous AT tires. My 2 go to tires are the flaken and cooper.

The Falkens are better off road than the coopers, but the difference is not huge.

The coopers are better on the road in the wet and snow. The difference is not huge.

Given the not too aggressive tread pattern requirement, your best choice would be the Cooper At3

I had awful luck with these. They were pretty decent for the first winter, but for the second one they were terrifying even though they had a lot of tread left. A friend had the same experience.
Weird. Never had an issue with the coopers in the northeast ohio snow belt. These are my favorite AT for snow. And we get a lot of it.

I have found The coopers are better in snow than the falken or ko/2.

One of the tire stores I have gotten tires from many times won’t sell Cooper. They stated Cooper’s warranty claim process is borderline criminal.

With that being said, I would spend money on Cooper

BFG Trail-terrain. I put them on my wife's Explorer and they have been great. Not as aggressive as the KO2 but worlds better than stock

Tirerack.com have them delivered to your installer. The price of the tires plus the shipping is probably gonna be less than your local tire dealer can you get them for
My local tire dealer beat the Tire Rack price on the Coopers. I did not even have to ask for price match. Their price was better from the start. Thus, I would call locally first. Tire Rack has always been good for me to get quick delivery (next day) on out of stock items.

Good for you!

I’m not sure you understood what or where nor how your tires were made, material wise. It’s like saying my Toyota or BMW was made in the great ol’ USA. ???

The rubber comes from petrochemicals not rubber trees.
No Waaay!

This entire time I thought even rubber bands were grown from trees too, SOB…! ?

So.....the toyota manufacturing plants in thr USA are just cardboard cutouts? No actual US employees????

There are tires that are manufactured in the USA. Not sure what the issue is.

On the aggressive treads side of your request but my Wildpeak AT4Ws have been good for noise, traction in rain snow and fire roads.

Haven’t noticed the added weight in responsiveness for day to day driving (50/50 mix of freeway and town) or mpg.

Made in USA for my 275/60r20 size.

They’re no winter tire but they get the job done for what they are!

Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT, I run these year round in Alaska...excellent tire
Cooper Tire.jpg
I’ve been eying these…

i have 30k miles on my Nokian Outpost AT and at this point, is very clear they have lost significant “lateral” traction on packed snow (even mud). Hunting season was pretty sketch at times… and just about slid into a car next to me in a parking lot in Vail on ice last week. I was in 4hi and truck just walked sideways… pretty sketch.

Anyway, Faljen Wildpeak AT4 were on the radar in 35x11.5r17, but justwatched a review and looks like they switched to harder rubber compound from the at3 and are also crazy heavy. The Stronghold in 285/75r17 measures in at 34.1” and are relatively light compared to equivalent tires.

Glad to know these work for you in AK. Where do you live? On the coast or more inland? Wondering the type of snow / use you see…

TIA.

I'm sure Cooper's are good. Last set I owned were terrible. Truck drove perfectly before but with the new Cooper's it was literally all over the road, tires never balanced right, and they developed a weird wear pattern. Installer, nor Cooper would do anything about it. Bought another set of non-Cooper tires and it drove perfectly fine again. I can't say that I will ever go back to them again.

I'm sure everyone has a story about a bad batch of tires from different brands.

Just put on some Falken Rubitrek ATs and got them at Walmart for $225 a tire. So far, so good.

Or a poor install.

Zero issues with a variety of Coopers I've had on a number of different vehicles since 2007-ish.
