Give this a try:

HVAC
733-01-07 xxxx x8xx xx (If OEM is A)

This disables the “Enhanced Windshield Anti Fogging Strategy” which is the primary cause of the recirculation turning off.
If this works I will be buying a cable and learning to use ForScan ...

I see others stating this has worked for them. Now I'm hoping someone will find the corresponding code for the 2022 Explorer XLT.

Just did this on mine. Now we wait for sometime mid-late November when it actually gets cool enough to bump the heater on and see if it works..

I have a 2021 F150 XLT and the AC will come by itself with raining or very high humidity. Does this sound like the “Enhanced Windshield Anti Fogging Strategy” ?
When the AC does come on, the light in the AC or Recirc switches do not light.

How do you know if AC's on, if the light isn't?

The air temp coming out of the vents drops dramatically. Last weekend driving in the rain it was about 70 degrees outside and had to add some heat because the air coming out of the vents was cold.

2022 F150 and in the summer mine would stay on with just face on. (Even when humid as a sh T out and windows condensing) first cooler day of September today shuts off all the time. I work in a dusty as sh t tunnel and this is a problem! Needs to be a fix!

Most auto climate control has an anti-fogging strategy to meet the FMVSS requirement. Also, they have a partial recirc design, where the recirc isn't 100% inside air.

I wouldn't suggest unplugging the humidity sensor either, as that is one of the inputs to the climate control module. You'll likely set a DTC, and it may prevent auto from functioning properly.

My problem is when the fresh air is on and I'm driving 80mph it feels like the air is on high even if the fan is on 1.

Well this didn't seem to work on mine. The system still randomly switches off recirculate at will. Can be anywhere from 90 seconds to 5 or more minutes. One thing on mine is I never use Auto mode for the HVAC so not sure if this only applies to that mode or will also work with manual. I'll double check to make sure the code updated in Forscan, but I'm fairly certain it did.

Updated to the latest build of Forscan, and reset the HVAC back to OEM and tried re-writing 733-01-07 xxxx x8xx xx and no luck. It still switches off recirculation whenever it feels like if I am running the temp higher than outside. :(

My recirculation turned off twice yesterday, for the first time ever in this truck. What was indeed unique yesterday is that it's the first time ever that the outside ambient temperature was well below the temperature I had the the internal temperature set to. As a result, the HVAC system was actually heating the cabin air for the first time ever as well.

Then I lowered the internal temperature setting by a few degrees. The truck immediately turned off the recirculation as if it was going to blend some of the colder fresh air into the cabin to lower the temperature. It actually made sense from that perspective. Even if I hadn't made the decision myself to source the "free" colder air, it thought that it should.

Hi there. This circulation concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

Wow. After thousands of posts I triggered the algorithm!
Hilarious since I wasn't even posting an issue or complaint. :)
