Next time I go in I thought of asking the dealer to just clear the recall notice, because I’ve already installed it. If they balk, I’ll tell them to go ahead and update my TRM and see what they do when they punch into FDRS and find nothing to install. I expect the conversation will go something like this: Dealer: “We can’t find the software. It’s not available.” Me: “There’s a federally-monitored recall out. Don’t tell me there’s no software. Better figure it out.”
You'll blow their minds man!

Good news. So, no instances of Ford sending anything other than -BB OTA.
And note to self (and others).....Always start the truck before checking module data after an OTA update:cool:

Has anyone heard of recall 22S38?

Apparently Ford has finally acknowledged that trailer brake controllers sold as "accessory parts" and installed by dealers, customers or third parties are subject to the same issues as factory installed units.

According to NHTSA report 22E-045:

"Any affected VIN’s (sic) identified as part of this program will be added to safety recall 22S17 (22V193) and remedied under that program.

Ford will also evaluate whether potentially affected vehicles can be identified via connected data and subsequently updated via an OTA software update."

Earlier today I was talking to a technician at a local dealer's service dept. regarding this recall and he said something about Ford coming out with new software to fix the units that are "bricked" when updated. He was rather busy so I couldn't get any more details about it.

Has anyone who received the OTA update had their recall notice cleared? I'm going on 2 weeks after receiving my OTA and still have the "Recall Incomplete" status on my Ford pass.

Hopefully they get it removed soon, so my active recall notices drop to 2 from 3

I have three recalls as well.
-The sound attenuation and driveshaft, performed at the dealer in April.
-The trailer brake, performed OTA in June.
-Wiper motors, pending confirmation and scheduling.

But the app still show 3 recalls

Picked up my truck today as they didn't give me enough notice to get it yesterday evening before closing. After I got home, the recall notice was gone in FordPass. Software version from the Motorcraft site still shows the same.

I took my truck into the dealer today to have the trailer control module recall performed, but it looks to me like it still has the same software it did before I took it in. Do I need to wait 24 hours before refreshing the fordpass widget?

Did you reload the module information? In the upper right hand corner of the page listing the modules is a button that says “Reload Data.” You have to press it and then enter the Captcha code to show changes to the module data. Refreshing the widget does not do this automatically.

Thanks! I had not done that. After doing so, looks like I’m all good!

Excellent.

@tonesto7 . This is something I mentioned before. I agree that an automatic reload of module data whenever the app is refreshed is not a good idea. But is there some way to integrate a pop up that informs users that a vehicle refresh does not automatically reload module data? This issue seems to keep coming up. Perhaps an addendum to the pop up already in the app that informs users that a vehicle refresh may take some time.

Sure I can absolutely add something to it stating that
