Wow this is all so wild.

I had this recall "completed" when they performed the driveshaft recall and the stuck OTA 1.7 issue and installed bluecruise. The recall notice even went away for my VIN on the recall check on ford.com, the same as the driveshaft recall.

So somehow Ford believes I'm GTG, but clearly with this information I'm not...? What an absolute blunder.

I'd give it a 90% chance you are not good to go. @Ford Motor Company does nothing to educate dealers, someone is going to get killed over this.

Thanks for posting those links. Everything I read appears to be a software-only update, nothing to do with hardware. I also found the procedures below regarding how to update those. Can anyone confirm this is available today in FDRS?

****************

CERTAIN 2021-2022 MODEL YEAR F-150, SUPER-DUTY, EXPEDITION, NAVIGATOR, AND 2022 MODEL YEAR MAVERICK VEHICLES — INTEGRATED TRAILER RELAY MODULE SERVICE PROCEDURE Module Programming NOTE: Program appropriate vehicle modules before performing diagnostics and clear all DTCs after programming. For DTCs generated after programming, follow normal diagnostic service procedures.

1. Connect a battery charger to the 12V battery. NOTE: Verify that the negative cable of the charger is installed on a chassis or engine ground, and not the 12 volt battery negative terminal to prevent the battery saver mode from activating on the vehicle. NOTE: If the diagnostic software does not load or if the vehicle cannot be identified properly, make sure there is a good internet connection and the VCM is properly connected to the DLC.

2. Log into Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS). NOTE: Vehicle information is automatically retrieved by the diagnostic software and a Network Test is run. Vehicle identification data appears on the screen when this is complete.

3. Click 'Read VIN from Vehicle' or manually enter the VIN. NOTE: Available modules are shown on the LH side of the screen, and available procedures are listed on the RH side of the screen. Modules that are communicating are highlighted in green.

4. Select Toolbox tab.

5. From the list on the LH side of the screen, select the ITRM.

6. From the list on the RH side of the screen, select ITRM - Integrated Trailer Relay Module (ITRM) Software Update.

7. Click RUN. Follow all on-screen instructions carefully.

8. Disconnect the battery charger from the 12V battery once the programming has completed
Did some FDRS updates this morning (GWM, TCU, APIM) and then went looking for the trailer update....nope.

But interestingly the instructions above say I'm supposed to select the 'ITRM" from the list on the left and then the software update from the right side.

There is no 'ITRM" listed in FDRS...just a TRM.

Something looks a bit off with what you’re showing for node F188. The middle characters should be 19J297. Do you want me to look at your as-built? If so, I’ll need your VIN.

Your F188 looks like it came from your APIM.
Please do....VIN 1FTFX1E81MKE01710

This is your TRM info. You have the same software I do--released in late February, before the recall.

I thought it has been mentioned that the software for the recall has not even been released yet ?

Seems dealers like mine are just blindly updating it without reading the fine print or using their head....

Anyway someone can put a banner on top of this thread to say that the software for this recall has not been released ? So there's not another 10 pages of went to dealer... got it done! whoo just to have to go back later...

What does that February update do since they did that to mine?
Fixes an issue with a false alarm activation described in SSM 50226. Came out around October of last year and said software to fix it was expected in—you guessed it—February 2022.

I stated previously, but to repeat...

Dec 2021 Build of 2022 F150 KR PB 4x4 LB.

I have received the recall letter. I have not had it in for service. I have received one OTA (the Blue Cruise Map update in early Feb).

The Ford Widget shows for

TRM (Trailer Module)

(F133): ASSEMBLY
MU5T-19J294-DJ

(F188): STRATEGY (SW VERSION)
MU5T-19J297-DH

To the best of my knowledge my Trailer Brakes are working. I get the bar display in the console when applying brakes. Manually applying trailer brakes they are activating (though I can't get them to lock up and skid, but this might be a trailer brakes thing).

So do I have the "fix" software?
This is similar to the functionality I’m seeing (post 290). My F133/Assembly code has a “DH” designation (unlike your DJ) - but the software version is the same.

JEB / All,

I had this performed yesterday and am just reading this thread now. Can somebody check my VIN and advise?

VIN: XXXXXX

All I got for correction was:
"Reprogram integrated trailer brake module with latest level using FDRS 22S17B - Warranty"

Thanks! My truck was built in August. so that's....something.

For what it's worth, I e-mailed ford customer service. hopefully they can help with either closure or routing it through the correct channels..

That is what i thought. Thanks Jeb. Now it is a wait and see what Ford is going to do about this recall/fix. I am lucky that I don't pull a trailer very often but when I do I will be careful about braking.
