I don't drive my truck a lot (maybe 2500 miles per year). So keeping the battery charged up is a challenge, especially since I don't normally park near power (across the street where there is zero power).

So I had the Noco 2d charger but it would take days to charge the battery to anywhere close to 80-90% when it started at 35-40%.

So I got the Noco Genius 10a. I just charged it and the charger says the battery is at 100% but the truck, via OBDLink say it's at 76%.

Is this normal or should I recalibrate the bms? Can you recalibrate it?

P.s. I do have the charger's negative connected to the proper side of the bms. NOT directly to the battery

Thoughts?

I wonder if that means that your battery is about to give up the ghost?

The ODBmx will always accurately display the trucks SOC status. There isn't a calibration setting for the trucks BMS system. Resetting the BMS isn't going to do it either. A BMS reset simply resets days in service of the battery to 0 and instructs the body control module to reset the charging system algorithm, telling it a new battery has been installed.

In other words, a reset will not set the SOC to 100% the system will immediately report the batteries current SOC level what ever it may be before the reset

The NOCO chargers do not report the SOC correctly, as,they are only making an assumption based on voltage.

Question, Frank. Is your Powerboost fully up to date as far as software goes? Recent updates to these trucks have yielded tremendous results in keeping the AGM battery fully charged at all times. @Snakebitten can atest to this, his truck is fully up to date and he regularly sees AGM SOC levels in the 90's.

When the truck is driven, of course. :)

It is not the healthiest AGM and is no longer capable of holding the SOC that the truck so deliberately returns it to on any decent jaunt. But the more aggressive charging strategy has no doubt extended its usefulness.

The onboard Noco5 isn't too happy about it though. Lol
I no longer plug it in unless the truck has sat for a week or more. If it threatens to give me any low voltage trouble, I'll do what so many others have done and put this OEM Dearborn battery to rest.

There is a thread "No more battery problems". I was getting the "shutting down to save" screen fairly regularly unless I was on a road trip. I followed the instructions a couple months ago and everything including auto start/stop has been working even though some weeks I don't put 30 miles on with half dozen trips. I have not put it on the charger since. I was about to go the new battery route before I read that post. May not work for your issue, but could be worth a shot.
