IMO, the best solution is an OEM solution such as the leaf springs from the Heavy Duty Payload Package. It may be the most involved install though. Theoretically (not legally), it should have 650-800lbs more Rear Axle Weight Rating capacity.

Yes max tow. Its how the weight adds up ( See my reply to post above) and how far it hangs off the back of the truck.

As you described the situation, you are probably over the GVWR. Putting your gear in the trailer would help. You also need to add the weight of a WDH too.

Yes and no.
The Timbren creates a “pogo stick” effect when the suspension travels and the “bumpstop springs” contact the axle. These suck when the truck is unloaded. They seem to stabilize well when loaded.

I had these on a Toyota and the 24 Powerboost. I removed them for now as I don’t need the added support often

In my case that was true at first but now it doesn't seem that much of an issue anymore.

Every option will be a compromise. This was one I could live with.

It’s not an acceptable compromise here on two lane state highways. The bounce will nearly chatter your teeth and compress your spine.

Never had anything that severe and I have driving all around the east cost. Maybe the clearance between the spring and the axle is greater on mine than on yours so they don't engage as much.

Hard to say.

I experienced the same pogo effect with Timbrens, Sumos and Airbags. The only thing that doesn’t give me negative results under any circumstances is the RAS. Too many variables on the others that affected the ride negatively.

Well, if you ever do is drive interstates, you only experienced the dips and irregularities that are on a two-lane blacktop road.

And like I said before, I’m not arguing with you. You don’t have problems with it fine, great, that’s wonderful. It’s about others who may be considering these Timbren pieces of shit.

It sounds like the rear leaf springs need an additional 100 lbs of load capacity. I added 1400 lbs to my HD truck using SuperSprings overload leaf springs that took me an hour to install and the truck's wheels stayed on the ground. I could have gone with air shocks but when one fails it would be a problem during a trip.

I also replaced the shocks with Rancho XL adjustable shocks and would set the shock firmness to double with a very heavy load in the bed. Took me 5 minutes to make changes to all 4 shocks to tune the handling.
