Did some testing and the the rear brake assist never applies the brakes when approaching an obstacle. The sensors work perfectly and alert to things in proximity but otherwise nothing the truck just won't apply the brakes. No error codes, no warnings, and it is enabled in the settings.

The only reason I am curious is the rental truck I had worked just fine but mine on the other hand will happily plow into when ever I may be reversing towards. Anyone else have this issue?

Go faster and stay off of the brake. Seriously. It will surprise you when they do lock up.

Everything is enabled. Cross traffic, front/rear sensors and parking assist.

I've tested it with a wall of boxes and was doing 5-7 mph. Foot off brakes and and it beeped when I got right up on the box wall but never applied the brakes. Just kept going until I applied them myself to keep from hitting the garage door.

The other thing I noticed is with the rental truck it would put the image of a truck in the top right corner when in reverse with the grey distance markers that light up green when it detected an obstruction. Mine does not do this except when I am right on top of something. Only when I'm right on top of something will it show the sensor indicators in the 360 view.

Mine will slam on the brakes if I back into the garage too quickly, assuming my foot is not on the brake whatsoever.

Do you have a bike rack handy to test? I put a couple of bikes on mine and didn't turn off rear brake assist, and it beeped and slammed on the brakes every 1-2 feet.

No bike racks. Just a bunch of large cardboard boxes and trash cans. Neither of which it will stop for. It also refuses to apply the brakes when backing up into hedges where the rental did it for some low shrubs...

I took it in recently to have the recall on the 3/4 float axle performed just after my last post on this. . While in I had the dealer look into the bed camera having intermittent failures /blue screen issues. Forgot to mention the rear brake assist issues.

They replaced the bed camera and found persistent B1252E and B1518 DTC codes. Ended up updating and reprogramming both the IPMA and PSCM modules as well as recalibrating all 360 and lane departure cameras along with the BLISS system several times until no codes returned which took them a listed 9.5 hours.

Got the truck back and didn't bother checking the rear assist. Well on Sunday I was backing into a parking spot and as I was getting close to the truck behind me a warning popped up saying APPLY BRAKE!!! in red on the bottom of the screen then the rear brake assist kicked in stopping the truck. Kind of surprised me too when it did that since that;s the first time it's ever done that.

Guess they fixed it when they updated and recalibrated all the modules, cameras and sensors.
