I think it may be modules shutting down or possibly napping.
I get to work early and sit in the parking lot listening to the radio and playing on my tablet.
After a few minutes of all the power timing out, and I close my eyes for a few, I hear a few things cycling under the dash—-usually around 10 min of complete idle time with no power.
Ive had my truck about 3 months and have not had any issues with it all, so I think it’s nothing to get concerned over.

Me too, seems to happen when I have key fob but not when I don't. maybe not sure
Like its a relay under hood, sounds like lock unlock but from front right engine bay I think.
I have zero issues so far so not concerned either, but wondering what it is.
Like courtesy lights on approach, which I turned off yesterday, so we shall see if there's a difference.
Maybe different at night vs daylight...hmmm...mystery

Noticed it since day one and in my opinion is rather annoying. Anytime I walk by the truck with the fob in my pocket it starts clicking and clacking.

Same here. I also noticed this on my 2020 PIU at work does it as well. Not sure what it could be as my F150 has the fob and the PIU has a key ignition.

Without a video of the sound, its hard to say for certain.

My truck does make some clicks as I approach it with the key fob for the proximity feature. I've also heard it make some other subtle clicks that do sound similar to a door unlocking (however the truck is still secure when I check). I have thought this was normal.

Yeah does sound like doors unlocking. I’m not worried about it but it’s freaky when changing the oil and this thing goes click random. I wonder if it’s do to being online and being checked

I've had the same issue since day one, the clicking comes from the abs module(upper right corner of the engine compartment). When I have a trailer hooked up the clicking is excessive to the point it will wear down the battery overnight. Unhook the trailer with the truck running, then shut down the truck and lock the doors and clicking stops. It will happen periodically without the trailer having been hooked up but not anywhere near as much. Dealer couldn't find anything but I have read about a TSB for the trailer brake control module that I hope addresses the problem, the sound is annoying but the battery drain is unacceptable.

Mine does this also. Really annoying when I’m working in the garage. I gotta leave the fob inside or it constantly is clacking and clicking. Lol

It's the "approach greeting" basically the truck recognizing/reacting to the signal from the key fob, (the running boards deploy etc...as an example, it's the reason the locking tailgate wont open if you don't have the FOB within three feet of the vehicle (or the reason someone other than yourself can pull the door handle and unlock the truck if you're standing near enough to them with the FOB) as for why the sound is so pronounced on the 21's I have no answer

Click, clack, clunk mysteries. LOL
I think there's other systems than just the lighting click noises.
During daylight, If I park turn off engine open and close door to turn off screen/radio, sit in truck, wait a couple min it will click like its shutting down a main relay or something from front right. Freaked my wife out. ha ha
At night its different with lighting though, I think.
In day if I approach without fob and its locked so no approach lights, and I use keypad on the first button press valid or not there's another clack like its closing a relay etc, .but its from left side not right.
Seems it stays in a ready state for a period then deenergizes system until some sensor or input wakes it up. Also dependent on settings, lock and light conditions. Smart truck.
Also if a trailers attached someone said?
Probably all documented somewhere at Ford . LOL
I think manual describes some of the behavior.
Prob also various systems for power boost, hybrid, pro power, etc. that are audible, I have 5.0, XLT, 302A 400 watt.
Camped in tent next to truck Fri night at the track and learned alot.
All good, I freakin love this truck.
...hmmm just tested with FordPass. Seems It updated data with no audible noises, If I hit lock, wait, hear 1st relay clack then pause and hear it locking. Seems same behavior as with first keypad press. But not the mysterious right side click. LOL
