Realistically it's more like 12-15 years behind. But Chrysler plays the nostalgia card. They did with the Hemi, they are again with a straight 6. Obviously their products and engineering rarely hold up, so they go with what works for them. Nostalgia.The 5.0L is 30 years of engineering ahead of the Hemi. It produces the MPG, power, and emissions of a modern powertrain. EPA doesn’t care about # of cylinders, it’s all in emissions/MPG. Fords V-8 checks the boxes. Hemi was getting very long in the tooth without any intervention.
