Anyone else have a loud what seems to be pump whine while the truck is on in elec mode? Mine has always been there somewhat but seems to be getting louder. I assume it's the battery coolant loop pump?

Makes it annoying to use generator mode while camping because it's making noise.

Hi there, WKarma. This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you with this whining noise concern on my end.

Mine has a very slight hum that sounds normal for pumps running under the truck in park. It’s louder in the first 20 seconds or so, then goes to much quieter. Really won’t hear it unless you specifically listen for it

Yeah mine sounds like a pump with a bad bearing or something. I'll try and get a video of it. Have a service appointment in a few weeks for some other things so I'm going to have them check it out, however, in a noisy shop environment it's pretty easy to miss.

Really just wanted to see if it was "normal" or if I should trust my gut that it doesn't sound healthy.

There is both a mechanical and an electrical pump in the transmission. Mine does not make such a noise, but that electric pump is there, I believe, to run when in hybrid mode.

Have a 5.0 v8. I have a constant whine when mine is running. You can really notice it at stop lights, drive-throughs, etc.. It really drowns out the engine.

My friend took his truck to the shop for the maintenance and toyo tires installation last week. Now he noticed the same noise that sounds like a bad bearing when in park.

Mine has a whine that sounds like it’s the electric motor. I can always here it when it is in generator or electric drive mode. I’ve listened to other hybrids and I can hear the electric motor on most but it is very faint. Mine is definitely on the louder side.

My Job 1 truck built on January 27, 2021 and operating on the original calibrations was quite loud when idling in electric mode. However, after updating the calibrations using FDRS over the weekend, I noticed that the noise from under the truck is considerably less now. Not sure why, but there is a certainly a change. On top of that, it drives better with improved hybrid performance.

Mine is not nearly that loud. You can barely hear it standing next to my powerboost. I'm glad you're getting that checked out, definitely not "normal"

Welp, took the truck in for some recalls and what not and had them look at this issue as well.....

Response from the tech was that this truck uses planetary gears in the transmission so some different noises are to be expected......

I wonder if that includes noises while the truck is in park with the motor off.

Obviously this wasn't satisfactory, so I had the service advisor get the shop foreman and come listen to it. It's hard to hear in the noisy shop so I sent him the video from up above. Supposedly he's going to show it to their in-house ford engineer when he gets back from vacation and run it up the chain....we shall see.

Mine is not nearly that loud, but it does make that noise. I think (just my guess) it is the electric motor spinning, I can sometimes feel a little shake or shimmy (which also is disturbing but only does it once in a blue moon).
