And here is “idling” electric in park with no A/C on. Crickets are louder than the pump id say

Yeah it's not the startup sound, it's the second one you posted. Mine is loud enough to hear away from the truck, especially if it's being used on a quiet night while camping or something.

So I went on a canoe trip with some friends recently and the guy driving us had a hybrid Toyota SUV, while another guy has a Tesla S. I noticed that the Toyota hybrid was always pretty noisy with either gear or motor whine whenever moving, but the Tesla was impressively silent. The Powerboost is somewhere between the two, though overall the noise is a lot closer to the Tesla than anything else. I'm actually getting mine back after having the entire cab done with Dynamat, so we will see how that changes things (I don't have the equipment to do objective measurements, so it'll be a purely subjective "measure").

Overall, I'd say that the PB is an EXTREMELY quiet vehicle. I had to rent a Chevy Malibu for work (truck in shop as above) and am pretty impressed at how much worse this car is in terms of ride/noise et c than the F150. I hear the pump noise from time to time as well, but compared to most of the options its actually a very quiet truck.

Have a 5.0 v8. I have a constant whine when mine is running. You can really notice it at stop lights, drive-throughs, etc.. It really drowns out the engine.
I have the same whine on my brand new 2022. I'm in a conversation thread directly with Ford about it. It's an embarrassing sound. Let me know if you ever find a fix, or if the dealer/FORD simply tell you, "That's the way it is".

I have the same whine from mine but the colder it gets outside the louder it gets. When i leave my house and park on a slight incline and its below freezing there is both an audible and physical clicking. At times you can also hear a metallic grinding . The humming is one thing but a metallic grinding and ticking you can feel is not a good sign for longevity.

Hey there! I can look into your F-150 noise concern on my end. Can you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info?

I’ve attached the startup sounds mine makes. Can’t figure out how to get it to remote start without the A/C (and thus, engine fan) coming on. Sounds like the other videos here to me, and is the sounds it has made for 20,000 miles. Seems normal

This is the same sound mine has made since day one if I use remote start with the AC on. If the AC is off and remote start AC not set to auto then it's silent aside from the various solenoid clicks.
