Hey guys..was traveling on the interstate this weekend and my 21 F150 XLT with Co-Pilot 360 ASSIST 2.0 would start to decelerate abruptly with no apparent reason. Then I looked and the set speed I had set was also changed. It seems that the truck may read the speed limit signs or maybe construction signs and reduce speed. It was very startling when it happened. The truck had the adaptive cruise on and the lane centering on as well. Any thoughts or experiences with this. Please Ford send out an update!

There is a setting in your features menu under driver assist for this. You got it right, the truck is reading speed limit signs and automatically adjusting the cruise set speed. This is called “intelligent adaptive cruise control” by Ford. You can turn that function off and have regular adaptive cruise that will not react to speed limit signs. That should fix your issue.

Thanks so much..i had used it a couple of times before and it never changed speeds so I was going to look..but certainly not..it couldn't be that simple..lol..thanks for sharing and will change this as it can be quite disconcerting when it happens..would recommend to all Assist 2.0 option trucks/cars.

For others reading this post…

You can set how much over the speed limit you want the system to maintain. I think it allows up to 15 over. Example: if set at 5mph over, and you are running at 80mph, the speed drops down to 55, then the truck will slow down immediately to 60mph.

It is quite unsettling when doing 80 (speed limit is 75) and the speed limit changes to 55mph or lower. It’s feels like the camper just came off the ball and is dragging on the road by the safety chains. Luckily my camper was safe at home last week. My wife kept thinking I was stomping on the brakes during our 2k mile road trip last week. Finally while she was driving it did it to her and she almost “freaked out” (I am told it’s a difference in opinion between a husband and wife, what constitutes freaking out). Non the less I was vindicated that it wasn’t my shitty driving (again, it’s a difference in opinion to define what shitty driving is).

There have a been a few instances where mine read the speed limit sign on a parallel service road; I keep an eye on it when I'm using it.
