Problem: Steering Assist Fault Service Required alert

.Hello Ford community, I just got an error message on the display of my 2021 Platinum Lobo. Can someone please help me? It says "steering assist fault, service required, dismissed alert." And when I turn the car off, it says "please turn ignition, off-topic start engine..." It would be great if someone could get back to me quickly. The car has been running perfectly so far, without any problems. It currently has 95,000 km on the odometer. Regards, Rico

You are having a battery issue. You could try charging your battery but the 2021 was known for coming with a bad batch of batteries. Even replacements from ford were known to have same issue. I would start with a good replacement battery and make sure you reset the BMS module after battery change or charge.

To perform a manual 2021 F-150 BMS reset, turn the ignition to the "on" position without starting the engine, then quickly flash the high beams five times, followed by pressing the brake pedal three times. If successful, the battery icon on the instrument panel will flash three times to confirm the reset. “

Indiana, OK, I've been to Boston once, but that's it so far. I'm from near Cologne. I just noticed, as I was turning off the car, that this error message regarding the battery was still displayed.

Came to say I had the same issue and it was in fact a bad OEM battery. Glad you were able to find a fix
