I bought a brand new 2021 XLT sport super crew 4wd with the 3.5eb and 302A package for $47,074 out the door in Seattle. MSRP was $56,750. I wouldn’t pay more than $38-40 for a 2020 in the NW region.

Since the truck, I am looking for is a 2020 model. How much % of the MSRP should I be shooting for? or how much % off invoice price assuming the dealer gives the invoice price should I be shooting for?

So many variables at play. I don't think that it being a 2020 is making it drastically cheaper. Inventory is pretty tight, so it's not like they have to have a fire sale to bring in truck loads of 2021's to sell on their lot.

When I got my 2021, I had an idea of how much I wanted to pay, what features I wanted and what I was willing to do on a trade-in value. In the end, I got a solid deal that I was happy with. It was more than I hoped for on the vehicle price itself, but I got a really good trade value (I don't have to try and sell a used vehicle privately during COVID times), the high trade saved me extra money on taxes by cutting down the the taxable difference. I also bought it in a neighboring county that had a lower tax rate so that saved me even more and only cost me a 1 hour drive. When you combine all the factors in, I'm very happy. And, I have a truck. I'm not sitting on a keyboard day after day chasing several hundred dollars. I'm out driving and enjoying. I buy new every 5-6 years. In the big picture of life, it just doesn't matter to me. For those chasing the biggest deal, by all means, go for it. They'll get nothing but my sincere admiration. For me, well, I'd rather be fishing!

All that said, this site will save you lots of money if you cruise through the posts. From the ESP plans (probably more for the 2021 folks) as well as Granger Ford and ordering new, there are ways to pocket some extra dough. Actually, quite low hanging fruit when you think about it.

Anyway, my best advice would be to look at your full package deal. You certainly want focus on them in parts (vehicle price, trade-in, money down, etc.) but I would say, don't get hung-up over one specific component.

Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum and need some help since I plan on buying the ford f-150 2020 very soon. Currently, I live in texas. The car that I am interested in is the 2020 ford f-150 xlt truck. The MSRP is $49,200. At what percentage exactly should I be negotiating to lock in a great deal. Thank You!

Looks to me like they're actually stating they'll sell the truck for $37,491.00 with **. I looked around and could not find what their ** actually means. Could mean they are using incentives that they are not telling you about upfront and you might not qualify for. However if you can get it at that price without any conditions I think it's a pretty good price. Just don't complicate it with a trade in and don't let them tell you you have to use their financing as that is another ploy a lot of dealers use to lower the price. One other thing to point out is the Window Sticker Price MSRP is $48,395. and the MSRP in their listing shows it as $49,200 so they already raised the price $805 right at the start so be leary of that too. Good Luck!
