So my truck has been throwing faults for a couple months now. Pre collision. Lane assist and a few others. It’s been at the dealer since the beginning of the month. This last attempt they just did was replace the front camera. And guess what. With my truck being lifted they can’t do a camera alignment. And coming from their mouth. They said ford told them the truck needs to be returned to stock to have cameras aligned. Any one have this issue with the cameras. I’m at my wits end with this issue. Now I don’t know what condition my cameras will be in when I get my truck back.

Truck is 21 3.5 ecoboost. 6” BDS lift. Aftermarket front bumper. That square radar sensor is located in the grill

I’m not necessarily doubting them but at the same time I can’t imagine all the folks with lifted trucks can’t get their cameras aligned properly? Or that they drive around without the safety systems working.

I know that’s what was thinking. All the lifted trucks the dealers sell and all the trucks getting lifted. They are going to run into the same issue.

Tell them put their senors on 6" spacers and get to work....it can't be that hard!

It's the windscreen camera that handles pre-collision assist and lane keeping / centering, along with the radar module (if equipped) that handle pre-collision assist and adaptive cruise following distance. If they're saying the truck won't pass the alignment procedure, they might need to shim the camera and radar to bring their agles down; wouldn't take much shim at all.

I’ll ask them in the morning if they can shim the camera or what they can do to get it to pass. If not I’m going to take the truck to a better dealership. I have forscan can I do the alignment at home?

Yes, there are camera alignments in service procedures.

Ok I’ll look up how to do it here. Whenever I do get my truck back. Is there a write up or anything on shimming the camera?

Not that I know of; you'd have to try it if necessary. I'd use very thin plastic to experiment with, the angles won't need much
