Multiple times now Pre-Collision Avoidance has popped up flashing on my screen.

Today I was in a drive thru foot on brake car pulled off and left. I let off brake and get Pre-Collision pop-up. WTF.

The other times I've been driving in traffic and someone slows down 50 ft in front of me.

Is this run off the camera system or the adaptive radar sensor?

Thinking I need to calibrate something because the drive thru incident when I'm moving < 5 MPH makes no sense to me.

you can reduce the sensitivity, I run mine in low. I believe it's features > driver aid > pre collision

Aha!
Might be another setting that reset after recent OTA update.
Thanks.

It is badly designed. If a vehicle one lane over starts to slow down for any reason, often to leave the freeway at an offramp, my truck's brakes would be applied and the truck's speed would drop by 30 mph with no warning. I have nearly gotten rear-ended twice with this behavior.

The sensor and processing technology and firmware code is still in its early stages which is why we have all the autonomous vehicle crashes (that are being ignored by the feds and seldom reported by the media).

My truck would go into pre-collision mode repeatedly when backing up if I had a bike rack mounted on the hitch receiver. At least this function I could turn off completely. Clearly the people at Ford did not expect someone to mount a bike rack on the hitch receiver and I have to wonder what behavior one could expect with a trailer in tow and backing up for any reason.

Turned sensitivity to low and again in a drive thru creeping under 5 MPH with car 20 ft in front of me Collision Avoidance goes nuts. I don't know maybe it is seeing the building as fixed object and freaking out over that. So far it's my only complaint about the truck software.
