So today I ran a 30+ minute test on my 7.2kW Pro Power OnBoard. Ran my camper's Mach8 A/C unit on Cool Low setting. The PPOB drew 1280-1340 Watts on the "B" Leg during my testing. I did run the 1100 watt microwave for about 15 seconds to test while the A/C was running and it didn't trip the PPOB. Both on was pulling around 2690 Watts. So the PPOB ran for 10.5-11 minutes each time and was powering my TT A/C unit, then ICE would turn and charge the Hybrid battery to 63% up from 40 % in about 1.25 minutes (fast idle setting on) and would turn off. See stopwatch Lap1 PPOB, Lap 2 ICE on, Lap 3 PPOB, Lap4 ICE charging battery, Lap5 PPOB, Lap6 ICE. The A/C was drawing around 6.7 amps and when the microwave was on it 11.3 amps. I had all other trucks options like HVAC and seat cooling turned off. I have an upcoming trip planned and going to overnight non-hookups at Bass Pro Shop, so I wanted to test it. Last time I ran tests the ICE would stay running but I was over 12 amps with having the truck's A/C on. Just thought I would share my results with the group. BTW, I did add a 30 amp TT receptacle under my truck and have a whip running up to plug into the PPOB outlet.

The Powerboost is the coolest thing I think Ive ever owned in a truck. Ive lost power at my house three times and was able to power all my computers and servers to maintain working from home.

Just bought a new house and one of the check boxes was to make sure it has a transfer panel. (I will have to make sure the ground concerns are addressed after we take possession.)

I've said it before in other threads, but I am AMAZED that after going into it's 4th year of production, only the Ford F150 Powerboost is available with this 240V ProPower Hybrid Generator feature.
I would have thought that the feature would immediately establish itself as a necessary feature to offer by the competition.
And I don't mean the small handful of EV's that let you tap into the onboard HV battery. Although that too is a nice feature to have, the EV's that support it are niche by comparison.

The concept to leverage the ICE/HV battery in a Hybrid vehicle for a mobile generator is just plain brilliant.

For some weird reason...ford has missed the marketing bus for the powerboost.
I thought it was good when it first came out. But not enough info was available so it became an "oh cool" and nothing more
They killed tye excursion the same way. A perfect family hauling get away vehicle that could tow 12k lbs and got 20 mph..woth diesel
Terrible marketing
A powerboost excursion would be the gnats asss bees knees vehicle.

Back to Amp load on roof top ac
Mine are Mach units eith heat pumps 15k but
They pull with 122 to 130 volts 11 to 9 amps full speed
If we get a cg with just 120 or less like 116
They pull 13 running high fane 65f setting
Usually spike 18 to 22 amps on a cold start. So you are right in the money
On my 7500 watt diesel generator , it's inverter. I can run both acs wide open h8gh fan temp set to 65, run the convection microwave, water heater and elec fridge amd still have ppwer left over
I have no doubt the 7.2 powerboost should keep you happy .
Like I said. Marketing.. or lack of it.
It's proving to be awesome

Nice! I'm with you--the PPOB is the primary reason that I bought an F150 instead of something else.

Also, I wasn't aware that Bass Pro would allow overnight RV parking. That's really good to know, especially now that more and more Walmarts are removing that option. (Cracker Barrel is another option, but their typical RV parking space design is a little too short for my setup, so it's not ideal.)

I totally agree. I bought my '22 in March of '23 and had never even heard of it. If Ford ran another 20 minute infomercial with Mike Rowe, like they did when they intro'ed the EcoBoost, I think these things would have been flying off the shelf. And I think it would have pulled a lot of Chevy\Ram drivers. Showing multiple camping\fishing and house powering scenarios, would have killed it.

I have my PB truck expressly for the 7.2Kw generator. I use my travel trailer a lot, and a lot of times I'm boondocking. I love being able to leave my Honda's and gasoline at home.

Towing wise I gave up a lot to get this rolling generator. I had a 2014 Supercab, 4x4, 8' bed, 163" wheel base HDPP truck. that was a towing beast.

The PB isn't as capable towing, but the generator makes up for it.

It is always good to call ahead and ask for permission to park overnight.

Thanks a lot for this lap data @Cobraman428 . Helps make it tangible how the night will actually happen when we finally use the truck to power my trailer's A/C (it's why I bought the PB in 2021, but still haven't technically used this way). I would be very interested in the same #'s (minutes idling, minutes between ICE startups) for the non-"Eco idle" setting. It's noticeably louder in eco-idle, and I'll have to make a decision if we're ever parked near people about the trade-offs of setting it in one or the other overnight.

I'll try to run the same test using the same A/C settings and turn off the Eco-idle setting and get some lap times to compare. It will be a few weeks before my next trip to the NC mountains. This is where I'm going to use the PPOB to run my trailer overnight while at Bass Pro's in Macon Ga. during our stop over.

good deal. Every time I run my A/C, the generator kicks off. I have power to the trailer other wise. Not a very big A?C

Is it a 30 Amp RV?
PPOB is a little quicker to react to a spike load beyond 3600KW than a shore power breaker would be, but you must be getting quite the spike when the compressor kicks on?

June 28th Update: Boondocked at Bass Pro Shop on June 8th. Ran the PPOB for 13 hours powering my 20FBS E-PRO trailer running the A/C unit, lights, & TV. Around 1300 watts. It almost worked perfectly but the around 5AM the truck stopped cycling off/on and just ran until I turned off the PPOB and restarted the truck around 7:30 am. I wasn't pulling that many amps because I ran the TT A/C on low cool and didn't have anything else running overnight. Also had the truck A/C off. I thought I read something in one of the treads about someone's truck acting the same way. Ran fine for hours then stopped cycling. Any thoughts? I was going to try to test this weekend to see if I can replicate the issue. Before any one comments, yes I use my surge protector because it is easier to hook up power my TT.

I've had this happen once. I couldn't get the truck to stop running. The only thing I could figure is I left the truck's heater on. I ended up shutting the truck off for a couple of hours. When I re- started the truck I made sure the heater/ac and the fan was off. I haven't had a problem since.
