I ordered a PPE deep transmission pan for my 21 3.5 ecoboost. Tried to put it on but I couldn’t get past the exhaust and got pissed off and just slapped the original plastic pan back and filled it back up. Anyone install one on an ecoboost and if so what did yall need to do?

I have one on my 22. You need to support the back of the transmission and unbolt the rear transmission mount to allow the exhaust pipe to hang down enough to get the clearance you need.

Yes, this is what I had to do also, the bolts were a PITA for me, but I was on a creeper with hand tools, so it can be done.

I did it on a 5.0. Wasn't difficult, but I own a wide variety of tools. You do need to loosen the two bolts under the transmission and lift it about an inch carefully!

I loosened those two bolts directly under the tail end where the exhaust hangers bolt up to above it. Jacked up the differential a bit and still couldn’t do it. Should I remove the 4 exhaust hanger bolts also?

Take a picture of the bolts you loosed or removed.

When I get back home I’ll get under the truck and snap some photos for yall.
I know the two I removed were tucked up above the cross member. You needed an extension and a universal to get to them. I'm 99% sure I just removed them.

Also saw another set of bolts that look like they attached the exhaust hanger to the differential

I removed the bolts that are at an angle.
